I have no other course to compare FXTE with for forex training. The problem I have is for the cost, ther should be written material to refer back to. You hsouldn't have to go back to a video to make notes and do reviews. Also, they do or show no live trade sessions, which is analogous to showing a boy how to throw and catch, by looking at photos, as opposed toacually doing it. I feel they should offer a manual and show some live sessions. It brings the material together, by seeing it put into motion. Unti they make those changes, I would not reccommend it.

Have you read the positive reviews and thought they sound a little too good? Me too. I'm a real student who signed up for FXTE's full "Pro" package, which is everything they offer. So far I have reviewed the home study, taken the Intermediate class and taken coaching with both Steve and Jimmy. I haven't taken the advanced yet but have no reason to believe it'll be better.

Two of the coaches could care less about the students. As an example, I asked a question to one of these instructors on their discussion board and six months later it still hasn't been answered but they said that's the best way to contact them. The home study is not good and one of the instructors said they're not using some of the systems anymore so how would students know that? The intermediate course is a mish mash of different systems, concepts, etc. Some of these systems repeatably change and receive tweaks which is not communicated well and hard to keep track of. Whether or not these systems work I don't know since they haven't taught most of them well enough to trade yet. The ones I do know haven't been consistent yet.

One of the instructors who repeatedly talks to the students like they're idiots (why not just teach instead?) says that after his coaching, 90% of the students don't place trades. Is it reasonable to believe that 90% of the students do not go on to trade because the students are dumb, undiscplined, etc? As one of those students who has done the work I can say it's not the students - it's the teachers who can't teach.

After considerable effort trying to learn their systems, I've concluded the fact that almost all of their teaching is video based is a big drawback. To learn a system, I feel having it also in writing is essential. I spent about 14 hours reviewing videos to write down the setup, entry and exit for one of their systems. Do you really want to go through a video you can't search and don't know what it covers to learn or would you rather have condensed teaching? Why don't they do this for their students instead of me having to do this? Because Optionetics is the parent company of FXTE and they could care less about students. They want to give you as little in writing as possible so that you can't distribute this information.

I'm trading stock options and am consistently profitable (Optionetics has nothing to do with that) so I know how to trade. Forex trading is supposed to be simpler to trade than option according to FXTE. For awhile I thought it was me and I just wasn't getting it but then I ran into numerous students and when we discussed our challenges with learning from FXTE we realized what similarities there are to the difficulties we encountered and realized FXTE can't teach. As someone else here describes - trying to get money back from FXTE/Optionetics/Profit Strategies is next to impossible so my advice is to never give them any to start with since they can't deliver what they promise.

I admit that I have always been one of those people to continually search out the best new education and software packages. 9 times out of 10 they are a huge dissapointment. Not this time. I have NEVER, and I repeat NEVER, had a better educational experience. Jimmy Young, Ross Beck, Steve Nurre, Ryan Fennocchi, have all gone out of there way to make sure that everyone who takes part in the seminars is successful. In my case, I recieved multiple personal phone calls when I told Ryan that I wasn't quite following some things. Also, unlike most companies, FXTE really focuses on education rather than tricky software packages or systems that you are supposed to follow rather than understand. They really teach you how the markets work. Like any other company they do sell continued education and other products but I find that the Newstrader publication, the coaching, and the Advanced seminar were all well worth the price. I have made far more back after working with Jimmy in the coaching alone than I spent on the products. For anyone wanting to learn about FX, I say take the Free intro course.

I have tried to be a victim and yelled scam at all of the other black box systems when they did not work. This is the company I hinted at in my review of other companies like Central Pips and 4xMadeEasy. I was a whiner until Jimmy Young opened my eyes to trading correctly. Read my Central Pips review.
I can not say enough about Jimmy Young and his Coaching. This is an Optionectics Company. I could not make money consistantly with Optionectics Strategies. But, Jimmy Young, Ross Beck, and Steve Nurre will show you honest ways to make money consistantly.
Here is my Suggestion...
Start with the Coaching for $2500. The follow up support is unbelievable. Learn to trade then you can buy the rest of the products if you like. They have a 4 weeks to forex class $495, but I have no experience with it. This class is taught over the internet. From what I hear that is the same as the free class they offer around the country. But, the free class is taught in certain cities, so you would have to travel. If you go to one tell Ryan that David from Denver say "Hi".
I don't want to get gushy about Jimmy and FXTE, But they changed my trading approach. That has changed my life.

Ms Jeanatte Patton:

I have read the letter youve sent to American Express in regard to my complaint, requesting a refund of $ 3500.00 of the $ 6995.00 that was charged to my account.

This continues to be a follow up of my request to your company for the refund of services I have not received as to this date.

Let me summarize once more the claim I am presenting to you:

On 5/25/07, I purchased from you a Global FX Pro Package while attending a free seminar given by your company in Washington, DC, on May 24-25, 2007.

The form I signed with you, dated June 18-19 of not stated year (my fault not to have noticed it at the time of my signing), apparently was for the stated value of: Home Study Kit Home Study Kit w/bag Trade Tactics Coaching Workbook, all of which I acknowledge to have received. By the way, said form was not countersigned by you, nor did you provided me with a copy, my mistake I think now to have implied your good faith to equal mine.

According to your verbal claim, given to me by your representative, or contractor, or employee to whom I spoke at the time I received your free seminar on May 24-25, 2007 in Washington DC, it was implied that to be included in the price I paid to you, there will be an eight weeks online tutorial (for which I assumed you did provide the above Trade Tactics Coaching Workbook to complement your online teaching).

Apparently this part was a gentlemen agreement that has not been fulfilled by your company, and thus constitutes the basis of my claim for a refund request.

I am enclosing copy of the e-mails that ensued upon the complete failure of communication I've encountered with the personal in your company while attempting to discuss my concern. I could not understand the teaching method utilized by your tutors, and they made no effort to modify their teaching method to accommodate to my needs. One tutor tried, Jimmy Young, and he told me that if I did not understand his teaching, I was not up to his teachings. So he fired me as a student. The fact is that you (or your contracted tutors) have fired me as your student but you have kept the money I paid in good faith for my tuition.

Again:

First: I am stating that I never received a signed confirmation of what I signed, it was just a standard form, not a counter signed contract, and not any body could agree with you that that was it was. A contract has to be signed by the two parties; you failed to do that, so that so-called contract is invalid.

Second: There has been no communication with me about my concern about the online teaching course, I've I tried by the numerous emails I've sent to you and the multiple phones calls that you have ignored ignored, and never returned.

Third: If you represent the Optionetics company, that has a good reputation, I am sending copy of this letter to George A. Fontanills and Tom Gentile and wait to see what they will say.

Copy of this letter is being sent to American Express, so that they will understand why I made a complaint, with a second request to withhold payment in the half amount of what I have paid you.

I might also seek legal counsel.
And, of course, I'm willing to talk to you.
Sincerely

PS. As a matter of fact, as I have not profit from your course, and I have the books and DVD in perfect condition, I should return them and get the entire refund in the amount of 6995.00 dollars.

You know this company is a great one who goes out of their way to take care of their students. With instructors like Jimmy Young (eurusdtrader.com), and Ross Beck you can learn a great deal about the Forex market and how to trade it succesfully. Both of the instructors bring their systems to the table and show the students how to trade them, and if they do not understand in the classroom atmosphere then we are taught one-on-one. This is the best education course I have ever been in, and the best bang for my buck!

The company has some one that can not be reach as the CEO. He-hires instructors and helpers and give free courses to lure you into buying the 7000 to 12000 dollar courses.
The instructors are good, but too complicated, the course in FXCM for 17 dollar (yes seventeen) is far superior. I buy into this company, and I did not like the course, I pay 6999.00 dollar, took one course and some CD and I ask for a refund of 3,500.00 They will no give it to me. So I have my lawyers suing them.
There are course better that them: investools: 1000.00 dollar,FXCM for 17.00 dollar, and there big course is 999.00 dollar. A tremendous difference. So my advise is avoid them, go to FXCM or Investools. There are many companies entering the reaching of Forex, that probably will-not be as good as the ones I mention above.
