Neither Piptronic 1.0 nor 2.0 are profitable. The only (sometimes) profitable EA is Piptronic X. The problem is that it opens long-positions ONLY, and if the trend goes down the EA NEVER realize this and opens long-positions all the time. So in an uptrend you are getting several small winners, but in a downtrend your trades are hitting the S/L all the time with big losers.

I purchased this EA with good results for 2 weeks but after that the wheels fell off big time. I supplied a letter to Jon which is on his site, at the time it was performing well, that was a big mistake on my part.Jon sent an upgrade as I complained about its poor performance but it made no difference. It now lies in the recycle bin.

Update - Week of 3-15-09, 65 trades, 5 loosers and 26% ROE. Bot 2.0 beta only trades Monday through Thursday even though it is active 24/7. I suggest reducing number of trades open to 2 and reducing risk to 5%. This should result in consistant 10-20% weekly ROE.

Update - yesterday 3/16/09, 23 trades, no loosers, 11% return on equity in my live account.

I have had very good results from this Bot. The first three weeks of January 09 the 1.0 version had no loosing trades in my live account. Yesterday 3/2/09 using the 2.0 beta version I had over 7% return on equity with settings of 15 hr. start and 23 hr. stop EST, 10% risk and all other settings at the default value. I suggest back testing settings until a PF of near 3 is achieved before going live. Using a high volume broker like FXCM should provide low spreads.

Stay away it is a SCAM, tested the EA out and the demo account lost 50% within 4 weeks. I asked for a refund 4 times over 6 weeks and not even a simple reply...I rate it a SCAM because they offer a refund policy which they do not stand by. Just look at the reviews below and I am not alone. I wounder if Logan Daily (Logan promotos this EA) is this Jon fellow??

i purchased piptronic from the website which offered a money-back guarantee. have tried it on several different demo accounts, each with $3k in initial funding. on the alpari-uk site, trading between 2-6 and 2-18-9 yielded a net loss of $263.68; at tadawul, between 2-2-9 and 2-25-9, when i pulled the plug on the program, loss was $314.98. i contacted jon kopitar, twice, at the e-mail address he supplied; never received a response. i then initiated a request for a refund, at paypal's suggestion (paypal had processed the payment). after filling out several screens with information, the paypal program came back with a statement that no refund could be issued. why, then, did paypal even make the suggestion that i ask for one? so: piptronic will lose your money; jon kopitar will not give you a refund and paypal could care less about those who use their service to buy things.

Guys, I noticed performance depends ALOT from broker to broker. I had good results on GTL and on advisedtrading (demo only - opening live just now) - it has to be a broker with low spread on EurGbp but it also has to be honest.

For example on Alpari which has 5 pip spread during asian session I had terrible results.

If/when you make a good money with this EA I suggest you giving some extra money to the developer because he deserves it (I will buy few extra copies).
