September was quieter than expected, at least in public. Behind the scenes, it was panic as usual. :)

There were a few traders court cases with verdicts. You can see those and vote on the new case here...

Open Cases

More Performance Tests were added. The complete list of all tests is here...

Metatrader Expert Advisors, Forex Robots, Forex Signals and Managed Accounts Tests.

Since I don't have as much to share with you this month, I thought I would ask you to share with me and your fellow FPA members. I've got an idea I've been playing with. If people are interested, I'll see if it can be done. If people aren't interested, tell me here and save me a lot of time and effort.

My thought was to add some top 10 lists each month. Things like...

Best Performance Tests of the Month by profit for the month.
Best Performance Tests of the Month by profit/drawdown ratio for the month.
Best Performance Tests of the Month for new tests (1-4 months running time).
Best Performance Tests of the Month for older tests (12+ months running time).

Best rated sites listed in the last few months.
Best rated sites with 200+ reviews.

And there might also be lists for worst of the month.

If you like the idea, let me know what sort of lists you want to see. If you hate the idea, please tell me now before I start bugging the programmers to make this happen.

If you are a list addict and want all sorts of top and bottom 10 lists, go ahead and hit the Like button. on this post.

I thought about posting this as a poll. I don't just want yes/no votes. I want to hear what kinds of lists you would like or not like. Hit the "Reply" button and share your thoughts on the idea.

Good evening .. fortunately or maybe unfortunately I have never been a believer or user of any EA's/ Robots or Managed Accounts for all of the reasons I am sure you have heard a hundred or more times.
Thanks for asking for our input...

I like the lists except the top one (best by profit). The profit/drawdown ratio is better cos it reveals how you might have to risk to get those kinds of profit.

First - thanks for thinking of the EA market

#1 thing I feel strongly about is that you must do away with any test that is on a DEMO!

Just for you that don't know: a DEMO account is;

1. usually giving the lowest spread (to attract business)
2. usually on one or very few of the brokers Liquidity Providers FEED
3. Trades DO NOT go thru the bridge (the software that connects Meta Trader to the Liquidity provider AKA BANKS)
4. Does not experience real-time order fills - meaning you can create an order for .1 lot or 5,000,000 lots and the order goes thru the same!
5. Does not experience Slippage

Hence - DEMO accounts are for suckers and are only sales tactics used by brokers to lure newbie clients.

Please FPA - remove demo accounts

AND For Crying out loud - when ANYONE loads this page:
Forex MetaTrader Expert Advisors Live Account Performance Test.

They are going to see GREAT performance by these guys: TotalGrid
if you do just a 1 second view of their page located here: TotalGrid EA - Free Expert Advisor you will see a link to their live results: TotalGrid EA - Free Expert Advisor and GUESS WHAT IT SAYS:

"Very bad days for grids. I blown 3 accounts today. Very bad. 90% of TG user closed at break even some pairs before the strong movement of today and SuperTrend filter stopped new basket. I'm sorry for the other ones that didn't close at break even and blown up their account.
Next days i will stop all account and i will restart with new setting for new 1.4.3 version to control global account.
Meanwhile i'm working on the new version of TotalGrid and i will keep in mind today trading session to avoid new loss!"

OH MY GOD! - so instead of adding new features on the review PERFORMANCE PAGE - moderate it ;)

There are TONS of crap EA's out there that seems to attract newbies that loose all their money - FPA should protect us from them and TotalGrid EA - Free Expert Advisor has admitted to blowing up his own accounts!

Just my rant for today ;)

disregard my tone please but re-read the message/facts

Thank you for asking;
Bill i am personally not interested in robots or managed accounts especially after reading so many bad experiences others have had-
Expert advisors i am still unsure about and regarding a signal service i have tried that with not much success due to not receiving SMS etc.
I would like a to hear about a good signal service from other FPA members but cannot guarantee i will join.

What i would most like to see that FPA gives i's members 2 or 3 trade options a day to choose from - like other sources give but i would prefer them from FPA.

Hello,
Thanks for the idea. I´m really interested in that list and I think all items you described are ok to me. And adding some new MT4 EA, signals services and so...recomended by subscribers would be more than interesting to analize many online services.
Best Regards

I feel too many people get sidetracked all the time with stuff that in reality does not have any positive impact on ones trading results.

Thanks for all the great ideas , information and chat room you provide , personally I am not interested in EA's or Robots , but would prefer to hear about tests for manual trading setups.
Successful trading to all:cool:

I think Worst 10 lists could be very informative.

Imagine a test that started with $1000. It makes $5000 over time, then blows out $4000 in one month. It still shows up as having doubled the account. People who don't scroll all the way down to check the balance curve may not realize that there's a big issue.

Imagine a broker with 40 Five star reviews, but it gets nothing but suddenly 10 One star reviews come in during one month. It still has an excellent rating, but people need to be warned that there seems to be a problem.

In top 10's for tests, I think demos should be excluded.
