I thought the MT4 and MT4 VDP were products of Boston Technologies since 2006 or earlier, but Boston Technologies is listed among the clients of Tools4Brokers founded in 2009.

Their Facebook page says: 'Tools for Brokers is a company has been developing software for the brokerage companies on stock and currency markets since it was founded in 2009.'

Maybe it's setup by ex-employees of Boston.

Not sure if these have been noticed and posted here before. Anyway, the images below are screenshots of their company websites.

Wise to note who their clients are and be alert if you happen to have account(s) with one of their clients. List may not be complete - some clients may have requested that their names not be published.

Tools4Brokers does sell other software which is not of a . . . malicious nature. All of those clients might have bought the VDP, but probably many of them didn't.

I recommend clients of each request that their brokers publish a clear statement about whether or not they employ the VDP or similar software.

That's excellent suggestion. In fact, a few months ago, I did ask a broker to declare this to me in writing before I open an account with them. They never respond.

In fact, I would also be alarmed by the ever increasing bonus offered by brokers to attract new account opening.

They must have already worked out their risk factor and has a very high confidence level in taking back much more than the bonus given out in a relatively short time.

I had another thought to keep traders awake at night.

This is the second company I've seen offering a VDP. Maybe there are multiple VDP products out there.

Perhaps. Not a surprise if there are several others :)

I believe there'll be even more eventually.

The operation logic in any software is similar - the programmers just need to know the requirement. i.e. what the app must do if certain condition is met,
and what are the possible scenarios the software must cater for the brokers to set. There are lots of brilliant programmers in Russia, India and China
who would have no difficulties developing similar VDPs. :)

i think so. but there should be good PM to control the whole process, otherwise bugs are easily generated.

Oh bugs are bound to have for any new software, but how serious and complex would depend on how well and thorough the requirement are defined at the beginning stage :)
Then of course that in turn would depend on many other factors - experience of the project champion and the programmers. At least someone in the team must know the in and outs of trading.

I've often wondered if some brokers apply the VDP on demos - except that they give the best price during a short lag instead of the worst.
