How much profits do you expect to get back from a USD20,000 trading account?

I see I need to re-educate RamanSL about risk management.

Taking a line similar to that two possum characters in Ice Age Continental Drift, "The key to my failure in trading the forex is because I am really, really stupid....and hard headed:(".

But, since a few concubines are now thrown in as bonus for success (still pending confirmation), I will strive to become successful in trading the forex.
If you want a daily dose of frights, I can give you the investor's password to my live AxiTrader account and you will cringed in horror as I trade my account:p .....its not USD20k account...yet....just over USD6k.

One of my all time favorite is to play shorts on USD/ZAR on the rise.
Main reason being that if I go in too early and the position(s) go into loss and I cannot close the short position(s) within the same day, I get pretty high daily positive swaps as I wait for the reversal.

Another great thing with playing this pair is that while waiting for TP to be hit (which could be days/weeks or even months depending on your profit appetite), I still get daily positive swaps for my "time".

I am always shooting four roughly 5% per month regardless of how big my portfolio is. I think it should not matter if you have $2,000 or $20,000 (I know once you have a few hundred million dollars it is a different story)

Holding positive swap currencies with wider SLs (or even no SL if the positions are VERY tiny) can make sense. Of course, you need a broker that actually shares enough of the positive swap with you to make it worth it.

I'm not sure if my heart is ready to view RahmanSL's live trading statement. I'll need to consult my royal physician first. :p

Rambo, how regularly can you achieve your target?

"I'm not sure if my heart is ready to view RahmanSL's live trading statement. I'll need to consult my royal physician first".

Probably wise decision, oh Pharaoh, cause if you were to see my live trading account early this morning during Asian trading session, you might indeed require the royal physician

x10 open trades on AUD/USD all buy at 0.10 lot size each....since then have closed 4 positions at small profits....remaining x 6 open positions
x18 open trades on USD/ZAR all sell at 0.05 lot size each....since then have closed 2 positions at small profits....remaining x 16 open positions
x4 open trades on USD/ZAR all sell at 0.10 lot size....since then have closed 2 positions at small profits....remaining x 2 open positions
........utilizing just over 20% of my available capital of USD6,596.23

......and, of course, I have received positive swaps for those open trades left overnight.

I got a shock for a while back there when I accidentally opened a long 1.00 position on AUD/USD when I meant the lot size to be 0.10. Luckily, the position went into profit and I immediately close it...

...........and I have some pending orders for 2 buy orders for AUD/USD at the 0.88 levels.....4 sell orders for EUR/USD at the 1.33 & 1.34 levels....and 14 sell orders for USD/ZAR at above 9.99 to 10.99 levels.

So far so good on a USD4,188 starting account since 19/July/2013....the tricky part is to trade consistently and to avoid over trading for the next three to twelve months in order to receive those "bonuses" from the Great Pharaoh........Come to think of it, if I can manage to trade profitably for the next three to twelve months, I will be able to buy those "bonuses" myself:p

So, for the rest of the Friday trading session, baring any pending orders being triggered, I will be watching the rest of the forex world going by and closing out any positions as they go into profits.

20-30% PA is realistic and quite achievable without risking an account:)

I opened a small AXI account a bit over 2ys ago to test them out and that has given me 78.15% banked return using little to no leverage (would have been much much more but I took a rather large hit on my EY shorts about 6mth's ago,Dame BOJ:mad:)

@ RahmanSL what's your thought's on AXI?

Hi my friend dkami......how's business? Making tons of money yet in the forex market (like that Pharaoh)???;)

Yup, our greed for larger profits, and impatience to get them in a hurry, always get us in the end :(

I started live with AxiTrader on 16-Apr-2013 making various deposits & top-up deposits totally USD2,843....brought account to over USD9k and managed to wipe out the account on 12-June-2013.

Refunded the account with 3 deposits totally USD4,186 from 18-July-2013 and now the account is up to USD6,596.23

As you probably know, over the past 3 years, I have used over 8 brokers (forgot how many) and now I am down to only one broker which is AxiTrader.
So far, I have no cause for complaints and my little problems & queries are always promptly replied to and dealt with efficiently by their Support services.....and I particularly like their attitude of "the customer is always right" and not treat me like an idiot and feed me bull**** like "under our T&C....bla-bla-bla" like just about every broker that I have used would reply to my e-mails.

There are some platform freezing or delay trades execution from time to time, but overall, yes, I am quite happy with this broker but will be much happier still when & if I finally make a withdrawal from my account without any hassle and red tapes in the near future.

101% agree with you....but, like I say, it depends on your daily profits appetite.
If you are happy with and desire/want to make daily USD450 profit/income, do that on a minimum USD30k account as that represent a mere 1.5% which should be relatively easy to do. BUT, of course, seasoned & professional Traders will disagree with me.

So, all I have to do is to prove that it is highly possible to make good & high profits trading the forex without too much sweat over the course of the next 3 to 12 months :p

P/S ......and I better scale back on those too many open trades cause I am a little bit uneasy with what today's market movements are doing to my account :(

Yes I couldn't agree more,I did have the same drama's from time to time but it didn't really affect my trading as I'm more of a longer term trader but haven't had any dropouts since the new server(touch wood) and no drama's at all withdrawing profits so I too am quite happy with AXI

P.S. good luck in your new adventure getting high % return's!
