Discuss is for general discussions of a financial company or issues related to companies.

Info is for things like "Has anyone heard of Company X?" or "Is Company X legit or not?"

Compare is for things like "Which of these 2 (or more) companies is best?"

Searching is for things like "Help me pick a broker" or "What's the best VPS out there for trading?"

Problem is for reporting an issue with a company. Please don't just scream "CompanyX is a scam!" It is much more useful to say "I can't withdraw my money from Company X" or "Company Y is not honoring their refund guarantee" in the subject line.
Keep Problem discussions civil and lay out the facts of your case. Your goal should be to get your problem resolved or reported to the regulators, not to see how many insults you can put into the thread.

    More info coming soon.

Problem Apiary Investment Fund - Too good to be true??

I am having an issue with a company
My findings

I have just finished reading this entire thread. I have watched all their marketing videos.

I have watched a video of a dissatisfied customer

I watched A real Apiary funded trader's testimonial.

I am not sure how reliable his testimonial is as his other videos are all internet marketing related videos.
His facebook page you can message him here.

The facts that I can see

They have a A+ Better Business rating
Apiary Investment Fund, LLC Review - Financial Services in Lindon, UT - BBB Business Review - BBB serving Utah

They are easily available to talk to unlike most fraudsters

Their site and materials are well constructed and their marketing is slick. One wonders how many traders they have actually funded that trade for them.

This PR by them of course claims they traded 1 billion in funds in 2013, this could be a marketing move to create legitimacy to their offer. There is no way to prove they traded that much capital.
Apiary Fund Hits $1 Billion in Trading Volume in 2013 -- OREM, Utah, Jan. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

Here is an alternative to Apiary fund, Blue Point Trading

They ask a similar amount amount to start but no monthly fee. They have training materials but no coaching/webinars or trade strategy.
"There is only a one-time enrollment fee of $ 169 (Standard Account) or $ 249 (Pro Account) to start with the programme and we do believe
that this opportunity offers a great way to develop, test and verify your strategy in a safe but promising environment."

but you work on dollars for pips basis

I think the bottom line is 80-95% of trader wash out... so they must constantly market and hard. That's why the slick marketing,

I went to college and spent thousands to get a degree, after which I realized I could have learned everything I did in college for free online.

But the structure of college forced me to learn the subjects and some people need that. Can you learn everything to get a masters in trading on line for free?

Of course you can, but do you have the discipline to do it with out a structure or a way to measure your progress?

Some people learn better with a structure. Like any school I am sure they have upgrades or a trading room to cross sell you.

I think if they really were scammers they would not have lasted 4 years, and they would have a lot more online evidence of their fraud. A few disgruntled customers doesn't put much sway on me.

There's other choices to get funded with limited capital

About the worse thing I found out when looking was a guy who seems to be a marketer for them Dennis Moffit is indeed a criminal. As far as i can tell he was not a direct employee but a contractor.

hmm now after a bit of digging its seems the founder Shawn Lucas was involved with Matt Lichtie and Linda Woolf on PowerFX Trading a know scam.

also notice our old friend krisskross808 who posted earlier and was exposed to be from Shawn Lucas from Apiary also posted on that WSO thread.

Linda Woolf was a huckster for the Teach Me to Trade something Shawn was accused of being involved with on this forum.

All in all I am going to stay away from this company. I will learn to trade using free resources, my own funds and shoot for getting funded via a trading combine.

Joined especially to write my 2 cents, I received an email from Rob Booker, a trader I dont like, as I keep trying to get off his email list, in it was a link to the Apiary Investment Fund, where they teach you how to trade with their money. This was a complete surprise to me, I can see absolutely no reason for any company to run a business model like this. So I registered for the webinars, unfortunately I couldn't attend. No worries, a replay was being viewed excellent, there wasn't any question time but the question were recorded so I listened closely. I had some questions so I registered again, odd my email was already registered, so what does that matter, so I registered with a different email, and come 5.00 pm UK time, I watched the webinar today and waited for the question time. That's when things went decidedly south, I expected the webinar to be recorded, no surprise there, but I didn't expected the question time to also be pre recorded, the exact same questions came up, about having 2 account with my wife, tax question about 1099, its called spread betting in UK, which is tax free and so on.
I was the only real person in the room, so I decided to have some fun, I trolled, asked people if they were real, shouted Bannana a lot, not one single person confronted me, I now understand why they market so hard, they have made a suite of tutorials and are pushing the material hard, they are a teaching site only, the more people they get to sign up the better, imagine a few thousand people signed up each paying $97 a month, easy money on an endless repeatable digital product, they may fund people, as that could make sense if they found a good trader, but I bet its rare. They only want people with no experience as a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, you dont know enough to know any better.
I would take remote_joe's advice steer well clear, I do have to say, the webinar was fun, but for all the wrong reasons.

Whoa, I am glad I missed this thread when researching Apiary else me and my husband Allen (we trade together) probably would not have joined. Apiary has been one of the best things that has happened to our trading.

We have been with Apiary since September 2014. After working through their education, live classes and our trading, we earned a Level I funded account of $2,500.00 on February 3, 2015 (roughly 4 and 1/2 months). A Level I funded trader earns 60% of the profits.

Apiary's requirement's are, imho, very straightforward and make sense. In order to qualify for a funded account you must accomplish the following over a 90 day period;

1. Have more wins then losses,
2. Your Avg $ win must be greater that your avg. $ loss,
3. You can't take a loss greater than 2%

Moreover, Apiary has recently introduced an achievement based system called Beeline, which a trader can work through and automatically have their funded account, which is set-up when you join, unlocked
happy.gif

Even better, after 3 consecutive profitable months you can apply for an increase in Funding. we currently have a Level II funded account (where we earn 70% of the profits I generate)

In short, Apiary has been a great experience and an Awesome opportunity for us.

Mandolin (& Nate),
Monitoring and quiet for the moment.
Mandolin, calm yourself; suspend disbelief and your cynical fears of repeated harm, like a beaten dog flinching at the sight of a rolled up newspaper.
Nate, you are not required and should not even attempt to make a case with regard to proprietary business stats unless you are willing to have them released by an impartial third party audited source that can document them.
Apiary students, just follow the course you bought; and make it work for you if you can.
Apiary's business model cannot survive funding mediocrity. They benefit as much from your success as you do, while you enjoy riskless opportunity to trade OPM.
If not successful, there will be plenty of time later for recriminations; if and when you can document sound reasons for failure.

Hi BigT1,
I've just registered with Apiaryfund ,but is not comfortable with certain things they're saying, then went through this thread from pages 1 to 13,but observed that this page 8 comment seems like your last report on this Apiary issue.
Would you please tell me your final observation about Apiary fund? I'm serious about investing in my trading but is not interested in wasting my money for nothing.
Regards.

Bobiz,

Take a look here: https://www.forexpeacearmy.com/public/review/www.apiaryfund.com

Those are reviews from people who have experience with us. When BigT was evaluating our company we did not have a lot of customer reviews about us. We have now been in business for over 4 years, we have and A+ rating with the BBB, there are reviews on our facebook page, google reviews, forexpeacearmy, and if you care to poke around some other trading forums.

I would love to talk to about your concerns. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time.

I looked at them before (seems like many years ago) and didnt like the $997 enrollment fee. I sat through a recent seminar of theirs and they made an offer to the first 30 people to waive the $997 enrollment forever AND everyone pays for data blah blah $97 a month for data feed, so far data feed seems fast with greta executions and awesome spreads, just trading a demo account now for one day. They also allowed those first 30 people to sign up for free for 14 days free trial without having to pay the $97 monthly data feed fee, which would kick in after 14 days if you remained enrolled, but never would be charged the $997, and would only be on the hook for the $97 data feed, as far as data feeds go, it isnt esignal but it isnt all that far off, and of you can pay $97 a month for 3 months and get paid to trade if you can consistantly make a profit it could be a good deal. there is no contract, its monthly and you can cancel at any time. I am new, just signed up one day ago and will of course keep you updated. SO far its awesome, and it probably is possible to take an ignorant monkey and teach him how to trade profitably consitantly, but if they can take a human that may have had some bad trading experiences in the past and is all full of biases, change his losing ways then that would be amazing wouldn't it? If you already know everything and are making a proit on your own consistantly (over years and years and regular trading) then I guess you dont need them. In this world sometimes the smartest, hardest and most profitable thing to do is..., I forgot, but if you keep on, you will figure it out all on your own with just a little bit of confidence and action.

Apiary is the real deal! I got in on a 14 day trial, with the $997 enrollment fee waived forever, and after 14 days, its $97 a month for technology fee/data. the trading client with its built in network is worth 10x the $97 a month. And I wish I could tell you why, but I dont think I can. SOme secrets are based on a need to know. But know this. I have been trading live for 10+ years, and yes I have blown up more than one account, but I have consistantly made a profit over time and continued to educate myself. Apiary is a crash course for me, and I learned alot in the 12 courses, most I already knew, this just confirmed it again. There is no where in America that I am aware of that offers what APiary does (and no they didnt hire me)(no they dont pay me commissions) I finally took a serious look at the tools training and technology that they are offering to anyone so inclided with a burning desire to learn and I am amazed!

over the last 10+ years I have had dozens and dozens of brokers. And the sad fact is that just about all of them are there to separate you from your money. I found a few good ones, MB trading stopped doing forex accounts :(. FXPRO stopped allowing american accounts the same features as foreign accounts.

I am sold on Alveo 100% and as it continues to develop, I will make more and more pips and more and more money. THANKS NATE SHAWN RON AND APIARY COMPANY for helping to regain my trading edge and develop my written trade plan! You guys ROCK!

P.S. so far I am not doing as well as I would like but I am new (EG)
Pips 1387.78 pips -462.57 pips 925.21 pips not quite to 1000 for the last calendar days, need 75 more pips to meet goal for week, goal is 4000 pips a month! :)

and I just check their BBB and I am not surprised that after all these years they are still A+ on BBB

ok my monthly update! still with Apiary, the beeline training is making me jump through some hoops I wouldnt normally jump through, but I am learning things I would have learned no other way. Alveo is an ongoing work in progress just like mt4, they are working on it, and it improves every day. the live trainings rock! and they have lots of experienced successful traders doing the live trainings. They are constantly updating the digital content and adding more videos to the library.

My experience with Apiary so far has been amazing, and after a month now, I am still with them! the staff is helpful and honest, and they show that they care about their traders. They are transparent UNLIKE most anyone (bad brokers) I have dealt with for years and years. And guess what!?! they have people to help those that need help! they can be reached very easily! and they seem to have all the time I needed to get any and _ALL_ questions answered. They trade every day like me,

but what is most impressive is that they are like me, they like to make progress everyday, and they seek to become better faster smarter and more profitable, I am with them for the long haul. They have been around quite a while now, most bugs have been worked out, and last I checked they still have a A+ at their local BBB which is something that I would appreciate in any and all businesses I do buisness with. no one has a legitimate complaint, and in most cases traders try to blame APiary for their failure or ignorance or inaBILITY TO TRADE PROFITIBALY. Apiary Fund will help you learn to trade and make a consistant profit over time, if you are willing to listen and learn. And heck with a free 14 day trial I couldnt pass up the opportunity to see what they are offering, and many thanks to Apiary Fund and Staff for giving me back my edge! I am not funded at Apiary Fund, yet, but am working on it. But I do have a live trading account in london I trade with someone elses money anyways :) so when I get funded at Apiary I will add another live trading account where I am trading someone elses money. Apiary makes sense, and I cannot blame them for making someone prove they are ready to trade Apiary Funds money, before funding someone. The real deal is they have a risk manager that closes trades that exceed 2% of account on one trade or 5% loss for one day, so you are forced to lean good money management WHICH IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT APSECTS of LONG TERM PROFITABLE TRADING!
