Somebody doesn't like the FPA site!

Hi, I'm new here and I hope I post this thread on the right place!
I trade with Oanda since almost 1 year, so far I have no problems with them. But in the last few days there are some strange things happening. Read this thread through.

What made me laugh was the reaction of one of the senior members of the Oanda forum when I mentioned the FPA site. It seems that I touched some sensible point .... And the gold chart is still not fixed!

It would be interesting to hear some opinions on this case!

It's simple enough. Ask them to show a link to ANY government site or known news organization that claims that Felix was ever charged with anything. They will only be able to respond with links to fake blogs and other BS sites. The only legal trouble I've ever heard of Felix being involved in was an incident where his GF bot busted for a green card marriage. Felix already disclosed the whole incident inside the FPA's forums. I read the ICE report - Felix was never charged with anything. Anyone who says otherwise is misinformed or deliberately lying.

Hi, I've read the Oanda forum and it sounds very suspicious of them to handle this in this way.

I understand the moderator's responses, but I have to say it sounds suspicious when a moderator goes from = quick to defend without the facts; and also criticize the posters charts without the facts and further belittle the poster to suggest moving to beginner post.

Then after other posters have posted their support/chats which OANDA confirms that this does actually happen and they will fix the problem; and proving the moderator in error in both fact and his belittling tactics as well as his apparent politics of the subject the moderator provides no appology.

Further adding insult to the poster who mentioned they research other sites - one of which was FPA the moderator further insults the poster by indicating that he is reading a site that is hosted by a Convicted Felon.

The topic of Convicted Felon is known and FPA has no secret about the subject, however what the moderator of the OANDA has done is to indicate that somehow a non-related charge somehow means that it's related to FOREX SCAMS. And somehow a felon. This is untrue bye the way, but the personal attacks by forex brokers also is very suspicious without hard facts which will not be produced because it's false

You see this moderator on OANDA is using politics as you suspected because he would have you believe the any legal topic whether it be a speeding ticket or otherwise would be related to the information on the FPA site simply because the FPA founder/host may have some blemish on his record which is not even related to forex at all and I think this subject is posted on FPA as well. He emailed me once with a very satisfactory explanation about a charge which was not forex related and thus fully explained.

I once had a DUI when I was young, does this mean that now any business I"m in there will be those that will belittle any opinion I have or website I have because they could now claim that I have a criminal record so don't listen to me.

You see the politics this moderator used against you and the posters in the OANDA forum.

If he is not aware of what this looks like then I would suggest that he read the FPA site and get the facts about these subjects for themself.

Sorry for the long winded response but it appears clear that OANDA has recognized the mistake and as the support/chat indicates they should fix this problem I hope it turns out well for all.

I'm curious how this will turn out personally as well.
I'm currently trading MGforex.com but have always considered OANDA forex specifically based on their NO download charts which is the way to go in my opinion. I like the feel and look of the charts and the trading micro lots seems fun enough.

But with small lots you know, it's interesting that OANDA or anyone would think that someone is out to get them on such small amounts.

I mean it's the principal not the money, unless of course you lost a larger amount of money like one of those posters.

But for small traders who risk a small amount it's the principal is it not ?

To use the OANDA moderators topic it's like ordering a chinese apples and getting african bannanas is closer to the proper analogy is it not ?
Then OANDA does not want you to complain they just want you to eat your african bannanas;and not to disagree that you ordered chinese apples.

Which reminds me I'm getting hungry I've never actually tried chinese apples or african bannanas, perhaps some shredded coconut,pecan peaces and yogurt would make a nice parfait LOL

I've read all about this websites owners little 'green card' history, and quite frankly I don't understand what that changes. I mean who wouldn't want their girlfriend with them, especially a beautiful one like his.

People do silly things which at the time are not done with criminal intentions, being caught on the wrong side of the law is easily done as the law always fails to understand, it just is.

A case of to quick to condem, too slow to forgive I think. I hope the young Russian finds what he's looking for in life.

Hi!

You know what I don't understand is this: Oanda support told me that if the error is proven BOTH the chart and the accounts will be adjusted (one of the support guys even told me that it will be adjusted AUTOMATICALLY). Now as some traders wrote, some accounts had been adjusted (for worse price but adjusted) but the chart is still the same!

My logic tells me (maybe I'm wrong) that adjusted account = error is proven = adjusted chart! But it is not like this because we have adjusted account but not adjusted charts.
So somebody is lying here.

My feeling is, that Oanda adjust only accounts of traders who are asking for it (maybe even not all of these) and the rest is extra money for them. So nothing is automatically, but you have to fight to get back your money. And this is not right/fair.

But how to prove it? They didn't wanted to tell me which "quote-provider" has sent the error price. ... who knows why

I knew that my broker is not my friend but now I have to realise that he is not even my partner who is earning the appropriate stake of the cake for his services.

Certanly Oanda is one of the less greedy broker but they don't seem to be honest. (my personal opinion so far)

This is the reason why I don't like people (moderators) who try to put it in a way that innocent trader think that your broker is your best friend. I think you have to tell people that they not just to have to fight the markets but also the brokers. Broker are interested in you as long as they can earn on you, and sometimes if they can earn a little bit more the better is. I mean they are not so stupid to kill your account, they just bite you sometimes but let you still alive for the future (intelligent broker do it like this). Other brokers just eat you up, and search for another person after you are gone. But this is not very elegant.

Maybe ECN broker are better or Forex futures? I haven't tried it yet but I'm thinking about it.
