Discuss is for general discussions of a financial company or issues related to companies.

Info is for things like "Has anyone heard of Company X?" or "Is Company X legit or not?"

Compare is for things like "Which of these 2 (or more) companies is best?"

Searching is for things like "Help me pick a broker" or "What's the best VPS out there for trading?"

Problem is for reporting an issue with a company. Please don't just scream "CompanyX is a scam!" It is much more useful to say "I can't withdraw my money from Company X" or "Company Y is not honoring their refund guarantee" in the subject line.
Keep Problem discussions civil and lay out the facts of your case. Your goal should be to get your problem resolved or reported to the regulators, not to see how many insults you can put into the thread.

    More info coming soon.

Found a girl on Tinder from HK and supposdely living in my city London.

We talk here and there, limited language barrier. She mentions she is a trader and sends me screenshots of the money she is making. She then asks me if I can do a trade with her because she 'needs to visit the embassay'. So she gives me the login details for her account to which there is 17k USD dollars in there. She said please can you contact this guy called 'Johnson' who is a broker for her brother. So I message Johnson saying hey I'm making the trades for my friend...so on 2 separate days he advises when to buy and close the trades (around 2-3pm both days). 1st time made 7k profit and 2nd time about 2k profit. It all seems too good to be true..none of these people have been pushy and it al came from me asking how I could get involved etc but I guess thats all part of the plan.

He offered to create an account for me which I did and he said whenever you want to deposit and start trading let me know, in return you just give me a percentage of you returns depending how much you are trading with. For example if I deposited 2k USD he would take 20%.

So he makes me an account on MT4 which I downloaded from the google store, not a dodgey APK. I wonder why not MT5...

The website where I deposit the money is airpas.io
The server I connecting to is: MT4AIRPASS Hedg Gapital Limited
https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/12057582 (is this even a legit site? the beta.xxxx seems odd).

I am guessing I am connecting to some fake server that has old fake data and he just makes it seem like I am buying and selling according to his knowledge?

you already got the idea of scam 99% right.

yes it is a legit website from UK gov

AIRPASS HEDG GAPITAL LIMITED - Company number 12057582
it is registered as IT business company, NOT financial trading company, if you have been trading crypto instrument only, so far there is no regulation from gov. which means nobody knows if your order is passed to the real exchange or not. possibility of fake trading is very high

if youre looking to trade BTCUSD only, nowadays all forex broker already have that (best option for most ppl)
if looking for trade various crypto-to-crypto, better use well known crypto broker, such as bitstamp, gemini, bitfinex, okcoin, poloniex, GDAX (now known as coinbase pro)

not all crypto broker is regulated as government still have no clear regulation on cryptocurrency, so even if you are using legit crypto broker, someday the owner of exchange can tell their exchanged was "hacked" and all coins gone, you are still on your own.

for institutional, professional trader, they prefer trade bitcoin futures, it is fully regulated, the downside is not for retail, and high capital required
Code:
https://www.theice.com/products/?filter=BAKKT
https://www.cmegroup.com/trading/bitcoin-futures.html#futures
Interactive broker symbol : BAKKT, BRR

The Companies House link is legitimate. The new (FREE) search has been in Beta for years now. You can always use the old search, but a lot of the information there costs money.

What we don't know is whether the website is related to the Companies House record. Clone sites often borrow another company's credentials to make themselves look legit. Even if it's not a borrowed set of creditials, the Airpas.io site still has some highly questionable items on it.

It claims to be in Hong Kong, but is not registered with Hong Kong's regulators.
It claims some US registration at FinCen.gov, but makes zero mention of NFA registration.
The company was registered in 2019, but the domain name was not registered until January 2020.

1. Don't deposit anything. Tell him you are checking for licensed brokers that are well rated.
2. See if your dream girl is up for a face to face meeting. Don't just say "Can we meet on Saturday?" Instead first ask when shes free to chat on Saturday and then shift to the idea of a live meeting. I'll bet "I'm free all day." turns into "I'm busy all day!" very quickly.
3. Report the broker's page to CFTC.gov

im experiencing the same situation. How has it been since?
If you are having a serious problem with a company, you should open your own thread in Scam Alerts and give details.

Why your own thread?

1. If the person who started this thread has their issue resolved, this whole thread will be marked as resolved.

2. Your thread can have a link from your review. This makes your issue more visible.

3. Issues can be different. Having your own thread makes it easier to get advice specific to resolving your issue.

I wasn't planning on making any deposits but plan to continue this charade as long as I can.

try ask which broker shes using to trade, if giving you unknown broker with dodgy website and no verifiable license, most likely is fake trading
