hi
what indicator could be best used in detecting the trend of a 15mins time frame. Can anyone help with this with a little description on how to appy it

thanks

try not to use indicators, try using fibonacci and several simple moving averages, you may do better.

Hy! ... I use the simple price-action at support / resistance levels from THV pivot indicator ... with the assistance of the TRIX indicator. See the attached screenshot. The small red and blue dotted lines are divergences ...

the large candle at ther right side is the daily candle ...

most important is (for me) to trade the session opening and the following 2-3 hours. Never outside of that hours ... London open is the best for me, as I am here in Europe (Hamburg/Germany) ... an very important, I have never an open trade (active or pending) at the beginning of a new session ...

greetings from here,
Dietmar

Hi Dietmar,

Can you tell me where I can get the THV pivot indicator and the TRIX indicator to try out?

Thanks, Brian

Hy Brian!

You can find those indicators at Forexfactory(dot)com forum. There go to "Trading Systems". In the thread "THV system, final edition" you can find that indicators from Cobraforex.

... exact name of indicators I use for this simple setup, see screenshot...

Greetings from Hamburg/Germany,
Dietmar

Actually another good indicator is a good old fractal. When the fractal is appear, the fractal indicating upward is bearish..The fractal indicating downward is bearish. It will appear when trends tend to change
