Hey Guys,
I stopped trading about 2 years ago due to my divorce and all the hell that comes with it. But now I'am ready to get back at it. I know there has been a lot of changes in Forex trading and the simple strategies that I used back then
are out of the picture now. Besides I've heard I cant trade with out of US brokers anymore. Can someone please fill me in with major issues that went on in that period of time? Thank You in Advance!

Pharaoh where you at? I know you know everything?

Flattery will get you everywhere. :D

If you are in the USA, it's getting harder and harder to trade with offshore brokers. If you are outside, the USA, then you've got more options. No regulator is perfect, but FSA regulated brokers in the UK are at least kept on a fairly short leash.

I'm in US. I heard that I cant take my money out of US to trade with offshore brokers unless I can prove my residence outside of the states. I've tested few brokers in the US in the past couple of weeks and it seems like they really tied our hands.

It's getting harder and harder for US residents to deal with offshore brokers.

One thing about the kind of regulations that they write in Washington. There's almost always a hidden loophole somewhere that allows those in the know to bypass inconvenient regulations. I'm currently looking into what sort of methods exist to allow US residents legally be able to open accounts offshore.

I live in the USA and I have had good luck with Finfx in Finland they have good spreads but they dont offer all of the pairs I would like to have. So then I also opened an account with 4runnerforex which is also outside the US they have a little higher spreads then finfx but alot more pairs plus stocks which is kind of nice. Hope this helps

You can choose broker what you want, i think all problems are in the safety of your funds, if you take offshore broker nobody can guarantee your safety, but I am not sure that every Usa broker can give you all guarantees!

Safety is a relative concept.

Brokers under a real regulator are less likely to grab your money, but bad things still happen.

Completely unregulated brokers are more likely to grab your money, but some seem to have happy clients who can make withdrawals. Of course, that could change with no warning.
