We are nearly towards the end of the 1st quarter of 2012; the Euro-zones prospects are hedging on the performance of their star, their work horse, the German Economy. The initial readings on Manufacturing and services Purchasing Managers Index showed showed signs of slowing down, and news from diminishing demand for their exports due to a slower rate of growth from China. Now traders are looking to see if the local Retail Sales have picked up replacing the fallen Export demand because these numbers will herald what will happen to the German Manufacturing sector in particular and the European economy in general.
My worry about this report is that the “eurozone” may try to convince us that the dead horse is not really dead but is instead pregnant.
