I am a Trader just like you .
I believe to be a Noob and if it wasn't for FPA , I would not have learned what I have learned .
a Week ago a Broker phoned me out of the blue , Introduced themselves.
Now how can my info be shared if I do not share any info. The broker said I have filled in a Call Back with all my info on it and thats why they have phoned me. I knew I didn't .

So my Question is as follows:
1. Is it possible that Phishing software could have been used to access my personal info from my Metatrader Account. Remember with Demo account you have to disclose allot of info before you can start trading or
2. Can Forex Companies share personal info between eatch other , trying to lure or scam you to trade with them
3. How could I have shared my info without knowing.

Here's a extract of the email:

We spoke on the phone about trading in order to make extra money.
What we offer you at xxxforex is the opportunity to connect to the financial market, so you can trade and potentially make money.

This can be achieved because of two services we offer you.

We offer you your own broker, who will advise you in trading. This broker will be able to assist you in understanding the market, so you can understand the trends better, and potentially make the correct trades.

They will also help you understand how to properly use the platform, so you can minimize your risk, and maximize your potential.

We offer you 1:200 leverage. That means that for every $1 you deposit into your trading account, you can trade with $200. Meaning, if you deposit $1000, you can trade with $200,000. This allows you to maximize your profit potential. Thus, when you trade on commodities, like gold, you can make some great profits. For example, gold moved last Friday 1.84%. If you traded with your leveraged $1000, with a trade of $200,000, you could have made in one day $3680 profit. Thus, a small deposit, can make you a lot of profit.

Here are the steps to get start, in no particular order.

I was thinking , In past I never disclosed any information of myself to any brokerage firm for call back or any so-forth action. I would like to know how my information was obtained ie website visit , when was this information disclosed and from what IP adress it was given. I believe in a up to date internet security system with constant updates and scans being done weekly.

I find this as a serious matter because somewhere or somehow my personal info was fished or refered by people who has criminal intentions

I have contacted our company's IT security department to track down the person or organisation when relevant information was supplied by your company.

I am prepared to log an complaint with forexpeacearmy.com aswell in this matter

Thanks

Why would a Yahoo Email address be given MMMMMMM

Guys please tell me what you think
Thanks

There are a number of possibilities.

1. The broker you opened a demo with might have transferred your demo signup information to a "partner" broker. This is another reason to "accidentally" slip up on the phone number and possibly even the address when opening a demo. I usually open demos with 100% fake info to avoid being bothered by broker sales reps.

2. If you bought any other forex-related product, the company you bought if from may have sold your info or shared it with a partner.

3. A bad employee of a broker or product seller may have sold your info to another broker.

4. Some really bad brokers do cold-calling.

No serious broker uses yahoo addresses for sales and support. Call any broker you've given your phone number to and ask to speak to someone about how they secure client data.

Thanks for the quick reply.I was stressed and with your info supplied I feel safe.
Lets say your info was passed to an "partner" Broker i.e. White Label Broker to Original Broker.
How can you determine if your broker is a white label broker and other is a normal broker.
Thanks for all the help at FPA

Sometimes, the relationship between two brokers is obvious. One will mention the other in their Terms and Conditions or else in the "About Us" on the website. Other times, there's no obvious link and you have to ask.

Start by contacting the original broker and ask them if they are sharing info or if they have any relationship to the one that called you. You can also contact the one that called you and ask if they have any relationship to the original broker.

If both deny a relationship and there's no other way for the second one to have the information, contact the security department at the first one and tell them that they've either been hacked or an employee is selling client information.

sometimes there are brokers that own more than just one company, under a different name and a different owner and address, trying to gain clients for both brokers, man thats so uncool!

have you personally experienced this? shouldn't they have disclosed that?
