At the closing bell on the Stock Exchange, here is how the major indices ended the session on the U.S. Markets:

DOW (Dow Jones Industrial Average) gain of 96.72 points on the day to end the session at 12,381.02

NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) gain of 87.10 points to end the session at 9,064.83

NASDAQ gain of 3.57 points for a close at 2,303.35

S&P 500 gain of 10.58 points for a close at 1,353.11

RUSSELL 2000 loss of 0.85 points to close at 695.43

FTSE All-World ex-U.S. gain of 0.17 points to close at 240.52

FTSE RAFI 1000 gain of 31.29 points to close at 5,550.43

BEL 20 loss of 64.3 points to close at 3,662.42

CAC 40 loss of 34.3 points to close at 4,824.55

FTSE100 loss of 43.7 points to close at 5,888.50

NIKKEI 225 loss of 187.8 points to close at 13,500.50

On the NYSE today, advancers came in at 1,744 decliners totaled 1,397; unchanged came in at 98; new highs came in at 19 and new lows came in at 105. On the NASDAQ today, advanced totaled 1278; decliners totaled 1,665; unchanged came in at 136; new highs came in at 12 and new lows came in at 205. Momentum NASDAQ stocks traded by active Day Traders today: Boston Private Financial Holdings Incorporated (BPFH) gained 0.36 points with a high on the day of $15.08, a low of $12.95 for a closing price at $15.08; Morningstar Incorporated (MORN) shed 2.56 points with a high on the day of $64.62, a low of $61.35 for a closing price at $63.56; Orthofix International NV (OFIX) shed 15.49 points with a high on the day of $50.05, a low of $35.05 for a closing price at $38.02; Cbeyond, Incorporated (CBEY) shed 4.74 points with a high on the day of $19.94, a low of $15.58 for a closing price at $18.76; GFI Group Incorporated (GFIG) shed 4.61 points with a high on the day of $83.68, a low of $77.09 for a closing price at $83.14; Lincoln Electric Holdings Incorporated (LECO) gained 5.34 points with a high on the day of $67.49, a low of $61.98 for a closing price at $67.15; Strayer Education Incorporated (STRA) gained 1.15 points with a high on the day of $161.99, a low of $151.40 for a closing price at $158.75; First Solar, Incorporated (FSLR) gained 0.15 points with a high on the day of $212.25, a low of $206.50 for a closing price at $211.74; Apollo Group Incorporated (APOL) shed 0.36 points with a high on the day of $63.63, a low of $60.77 for a closing price at $62.85.

President Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Richard W. Fisher: U.S. to see Slower Economic Growth; U.S. to Avoid `Prolonged Period` of Negative Growth; Hearing Increasing Concerns about Inflation.

Commodities Markets
The trend was higher across the board today for the Energy Sector: Light crude moved higher today by $0.58 to close at $98.81 a barrel; Heating Oil moved higher today by $0.03 to close at $2.74 a gallon; Natural Gas moved higher today by $0.30 to close at $9.19 per million BTU and Unleaded Gas moved higher today by $0.01 to close at $2.53 a gallon.

Metals Markets ended the session mostly lower across the board today: Gold moved lower today by $4.70 to close at $947.80 a Troy ounce; Silver moved higher today by $0.09 to close at $18.04 per Troy ounce; Platinum moved sharply lower today by $20.40 to close at $2,167.80 per Troy ounce and Copper closed lower by $0.02 to close at $3.80 per pound.

On the Livestock and Meat Markets, the trend was mostly lower across the board today: Lean Hogs ended the day lower by $0.50 to close at $63.50; Pork Bellies ended the day higher by $0.70 to close at $95.95; Live Cattle ended the day lower by $0.45 to close at $93.98 and Feeder Cattle ended the day lower by $0.80 at $107.30.

Other Commodities: Corn ended the day higher by $2.50 at $535.00 and Soybeans moved nicely higher today by $13.50 to end the session at $1,438.25.

Bonds were lower across the board today: 2 year bond moved lower by 5/32 to close at 100 4/32; 5 year bond moved lower by 9/32 to close at 100 2/32 today; 10 year bond moved lower by 10/32 to close at 97 14/32 and the 30 year bond moved lower by 21/32 to close at 96 21/32 on the day.

The e-mini Dow ended the session today at 12,333 with a gain of 12 points on the trading session. The total Dow Exchange Volume for the day came in at 199,807 which are comprised of Electronic, Open Auction and Cash Exchange. The end of day results for the CBOT (Chicago Board of Trade) which is comprised of the total Exchange Volume for Futures and Options (EVFO) including Electronic, Open Auction and Cash Exchange ended the day at 6,434,176; Open Interest for Futures moved lower by 49,143 points to close at 10,935,042; the Open Interest for Options moved higher by 161,911 points to close at 10,935,042 and the Cleared Only closed higher by 111 points to close at 27,215 for a total Open Interest on the day of 21,693,683 for a total Change on the day with a gain of 112,879 points.
