Despite dlr's strong retreat from 0.9621 (Monday) to 0.9535 in Europe yesterday, subsequent rebound to 0.9587 in New York morning on renewed usd's strength suggests choppy trading above Friday's 2-month trough at 0.9523 would continue, above 0.9587, 0.9621 later today.

Trade from long side for 0.9605 but 0.9621 would hold in Asia n only below 0.9535 risks 0.9523.

Dlr's intra-day firm break of yesterday's New York low at 136.35 due to cross-buying in yen and falling U.S. yields suggests recent uptrend has made a temporary top at Wednesday's fresh 24-year peak at 136.99 and stronger retracement to 135.95 is seen, below, 135.79.

Turn cautious seller on recovery for this move as only above 136.81 (Asian high) risks 136.95/99.

Despite resumption of recent decline to a 2-week low of 1.1976 in New York morning, subsequent short-covering rally suggests temporary bottom is made, as 1.2122 (AUS) has capped upside, range trading is in store in Europe, below 1.2080 would head back to 1.2045/50.

Stand aside for now as above 1.2122 may risk stronger gain to 1.2150/55 before prospect of retreat.

Euro's rally from Friday's 2-week trough of 1.0367 to 1.0462 yesterday suggests decline from last week's high at 1.0614 has made a low there and despite retreat to 1.0418 in N. American morning Monday. intra-day rise would bring 'sideways' swings in European trading.

Would be prudent to exit short as above 1.0462 may risk again towards 1.0488.
Below 1.0410/15, 1.0383.

Trade from short side due to usd's strength but 1.1920 would hold.

Yesterday's rally above Monday's 137.75 high in tandem with US yields to a fresh 24-year 137.86 peak after red hot US CPI and then intra-day break there to 138. 12 would head towards 138.56, however, 'loss of momentum' should cap price at 138.80/90 and yield correction.

Raise long entry to 137.80 for 138.50 and only below 137.52/55 may risk retracement towards 137.11.
