The bank is just trying to save themselves some work. If your card had been hijacked and was being abused by criminals worldwide, then you would want to change the number. If it's one company, chanced are that after a successful chargeback or two, the company would give up.

I don't think a new card will be necessary. If you do a successful chargeback and BDB charges your card again, keep hitting them with chargebacks. They have to pay a penalty fee on each one and their credit card processor will dump them sooner or later.

That is a very good news, and I am sure my issuing bank will put them into the black list.
