Best base account currency?

Hi. I've been demo-ing for a few months, and am now ready to go live. As a Canadian, I find myself very VERY reluctant to open an account in US dollars, but am unsure which of the other options (CHF, EUR, GBP) would be the best choice. Since all profits will need to be converted to CAD to be useful, this may be the single most important decision I make.

That's a good choice. Be sure to concentrate yourself on your chosen currency. Because most of the new traders, tried trading a lot of currencies,and they end up losing they're account.

This may not be the response you want, but why not open it in CAD if as a Canadian you do not want USD?
