Discuss is for general discussions of a financial company or issues related to companies.

Info is for things like "Has anyone heard of Company X?" or "Is Company X legit or not?"

Compare is for things like "Which of these 2 (or more) companies is best?"

Searching is for things like "Help me pick a broker" or "What's the best VPS out there for trading?"

Problem is for reporting an issue with a company. Please don't just scream "CompanyX is a scam!" It is much more useful to say "I can't withdraw my money from Company X" or "Company Y is not honoring their refund guarantee" in the subject line.
Keep Problem discussions civil and lay out the facts of your case. Your goal should be to get your problem resolved or reported to the regulators, not to see how many insults you can put into the thread.

With Binary Options you are basically placing a "bet" that a currency pair will close up or down from some starting price over a predetermined period (15 or 30 minutes being popular).

As most Forex traders know there can be wide, erratic, and unpredictable price swings and spikes in any pair that are difficult to trace since quotes are the domain of the broker, Forex having no central exchange. i.e. if you follow more than one broker (if you have more than two MT4 accounts) you will find it common that each provides slightly (to extremely) different quotes at any given moment during the session.

With that alone in mind, how can one possibly gain any kind of "edge".

Tell me Forex scalpers and swing traders, if you had that kind of an edge, to know whether the pair will be up or down exactly 15 minutes from now, why wouldn't you be able to make all the money in circulation!

Even with a central exchange and standardized quotes, it's statistically improbable that anyone can consistently predict prices within those narrow parameters. Throw in the possibility of a few errant spikes (can you say manipulations) and you have odds much less favorable than the craps table.

As any experienced trader I know will admit, scalping is a hard way to make a living. By it's very nature, the risk/reward ratio is against you just as it is in Binary Options. Check it out... The highest BO payouts are always less than 100%. Even casino slots give you an opportunity (however slim) to win more than you bet. For every losing trade you'll need several (or more) winners just to break even.

I "scalp", but not as a stand alone trading methodology. I use "scalps" as part of an overall swing trade strategy to reduce risk, not to make money.

Another "edge" AGAINST the binary options trader (and I use the term trader loosely) is there is little ability for trade management. That is, you cannot successfuly exit or modify a trade in progress with any accuracy. Granted, you're only in the trade (bet) for 15 - 30 minutes but, everything I've read is that you place the "trade" (bet) and hope for the best outcome. Now admittedly, some futures traders I know will likewise set their max risk (stop) and profit targets, and let the trade run it's course. I prefer to be able to manage my risk throughout the trade by re-positioning stops or adding options. And yes, I hold my trades longer, but very rarely overnight.

Now in the interest of full disclosure, I have not tried Binary Options, nor have I tried spread betting, or horse racing systems. I am a speculator, not a gambler.

My personal experience has led me to reduce my Spot Forex trading to almost a hobby level and I now leave my serious currency trading in futures. If I ever get my "hobby" account to where it is consistently making money, I may reconsider my asset allocation. But it is highly unlikely I will ever trust my family's present or future security to a gambling scheme.

Oh, and yes, I do trade daily for a comfortable living, mostly futures and options through the CME and CBOE.

Just the humble opinion of an old man.

Hello Brian,

For two years now I've been trading with Anyoption and I just recently made a video compilation of my 'In The Money' moments. I am very happy with my experience with Anyoption. They're always available when it comes to customer service and one of the only brokers I found to pay you %15 even if you're out of the money and it reduced the loss over time, since you can't be right all the time even if you have a great strategy.
Check out my live trades video, in my other videos I go into my strategies but check out the platform.
Thanks in advance everyone, Mike

I have just started trading Binary Options around a month ago with Redwood options, and a very helpful account manager is working with me.
I've just received my first withdraw as well. It took a couple of days extra than promised, but it's there now.

Hello Gregory,

I see you created an FPA forums account just to comment on redwoodoptions.com

So, what inspired you to place your money with a company that only registered its website in November 2012? Most people would prefer to deal with a broker that's been around a little longer.

I can't seem to find a physical address on their website or any information indicating what country they are in. Does this make you feel safe sending them your money?

Hello, between advertising and some reviews like ""binary option : a scam"", I will try to give you my personnal review...For me, binary options are not a scam only if you take some advices and informations before you start trading. That's sure that binary option is not THE ""insured earning"" as some bad brokers can tell you. But it's A way to earn money if you do it well. To begin, I took a lot of informations about each broker, I had a look on a lots of websites of advice and forums. Bad brokers are really easy to discover finally. My first criterion was the reputation of the broker, then I wanted fast and garanteed withdrawals and then if it offers formations. If you take the time to learn about financial market and to take some advice, you can really earn money with binary options. I'm working with Traderush and I already won some dollars. I choose it thanks to the website bonusbinaryoptions.net which offer you some good comparative tables and a good garantee if you have some troubles with a broker. Have a good day ! "

I've seen a lot of complaints in the Scam Alerts folder about so-called high win rate systems for Binary Options that fail miserably once the person buys them.

Usually these also come with recommended brokers that are reported to be deposit-only.

Well, then there are those who couldn't take anyone's word for it and simply has to, and need to to put their hand in the fire to know for sure that fire does indeed hurt:p
