At the closing bell on the Stock Exchange, here is how the major indices ended the session on the U.S. Markets:

DOW (Dow Jones Industrial Average) triple digit gain of 178.83 points on the day to end the session at 12,552.24

NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) triple digit gain of 108.13 points to end the session at 9,073.48

NASDAQ gain of 53.89 points for a close at 2,373.93

S&P 500 gain of 18.35 points for a close at 1,367.21

RUSSELL 2000 gain of 16.45 points to close at 721.93

FTSE All-World ex-U.S. gain of 1.21 points to close at 239.38

FTSE RAFI 1000 gain of 66.18 points to close at 5,609.78

BEL 20 gain of 19.91 points to close at 3,713.96

CAC 40 gain of 14.69 points to close at 4,855.40

FTSE100 loss of 29.9 points to close at 5,880.10

NIKKEI 225 gain of 46.3 points to close at 13,068.30

On the NYSE today, advancers came in at 2,048 decliners totaled 1,141; unchanged came in at 67; new highs came in at 37 and new lows came in at 45. U.S. January Retail & Food Sales rose 0.3% compared to consensus of a drop by 0.4%; U.S. January Retail & Food Sales Excluding Autos rose 0.3%; U.S. December Retail & Food Sales unrevised at a drop by 0.4%.

Department Of Energy comments released today: U.S. Crude Oil Stockpiles rose 1.1 Million Barrels compared to expectations at 301.1 Million Barrels; U.S. Crude Oil Stockpiles rose 1.1 Million Barrels in the week compared to expectations of an increase by 2.7 Million Barrels; U.S. Gasoline Stockpiles rose 1.7 Million Barrels in the week compared to expectations of an increase by 1.9 Million Barrels; U.S. Distillate Stockpiles fell 100,000 Barrels in the week compared to expectations of an decrease by 1.2 Million Barrels; U.S. Refineries ran at 85.1% capacity compared to expectations at 84.3%.

U.S. December Business Inventories rose 0.6% compared to expectations of an increase by 0.5%.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr. reiterates expectations Economy to Continue Growing; Pledges `Aggressive' Action to help Homeowners; Urges Congress to Pass GSE, FHA Reform Bills; Capital Markets being driven more by Economy; Core Inflation Remains Relatively Contained.

U.S. Treasury Under Secretary David H. McCormick: Sovereign Wealth Funds may Spur Protectionism and Need Balanced Sovereign Wealth Fund Policy.

President George W. Bush Signed the $168 Billion Stimulus Package into Law today.

Commodities Markets
The trend was mostly higher across the board today for the Energy Sector: Light crude moved higher today by $0.37 to close at $93.15 a barrel; Heating Oil moved higher today by $0.03 to close at $2.62 a gallon; Natural Gas moved lower today by $0.04 to close at $8.40 per million BTU and Unleaded Gas moved higher today by $0.02 to close at $2.39 a gallon.

Metals Markets ended the session mixed across the board today: Gold moved lower today by $0.90 to close at $910.20 a Troy ounce; Silver moved higher today by $0.10 to close at $17.35 per Troy ounce; Platinum moved sharply higher today by $63.20 to close at $1,985.00 per Troy ounce and Copper closed lower by $0.03 to close at $3.54 per pound.

On the Livestock and Meat Markets, the trend was lower across the board today: Lean Hogs ended the day lower by $1.73 to close at $64.15; Pork Bellies ended the day lower by $3.00 to close at $94.38; Live Cattle ended the day lower by $0.75 to close at $94.03 and Feeder Cattle ended the day lower by $0.80 at $104.95.

Other Commodities: Corn ended the day lower by $0.75 at $496.00 and Soybeans moved higher today by $8.50 to end the session at $1,347.00.

Bonds were lower across the board today: 2 year bond moved lower by 1/32 to close at 100 12/32; 5 year bond moved lower by 5/32 to close at 100 21/32 today; 10 year bond moved lower by 18/32 to close at 98 3/32 and the 30 year bond moved lower by 1 9/32 to close at 97 10/32 on the day.

The e-mini Dow ended the session today at 12,567 with a gain of 181 points on the trading session. The total Dow Exchange Volume for the day came in at 200,620 which are comprised of Electronic, Open Auction and Cash Exchange. The end of day results for the CBOT (Chicago Board of Trade) which is comprised of the total Exchange Volume for Futures and Options (EVFO) including Electronic, Open Auction and Cash Exchange ended the day at 4,481,864; Open Interest for Futures moved higher by 116,014 points to close at 10,678,109; the Open Interest for Options moved higher by 80,544 points to close at 10,223,573 and the Cleared Only closed lower by 60 points to close at 24,754 for a total Open Interest on the day of 20,926,436 for a total Change on the day with a gain of 196,496 points.
