At the closing bell on the Stock Exchange, here is how the major indices ended the session on the U.S. Markets:

DOW (Dow Jones Industrial Average) triple digit loss of 142.96 points on the day to end the session at 12,284.30

NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) loss of 96.41 points to end the session at 8,977.55

NASDAQ loss of 27.32 points for a close at 2,299.78

S&P 500 loss of 17.50 points for a close at 1,342.53

RUSSELL 2000 loss of 13.74 points to close at 696.28

FTSE All-World ex-U.S. gain of 0.18 points to close at 240.63

FTSE RAFI 1000 loss of 81.13 points to close at 5,514.56

BEL 20 loss of 7.45 points to close at 3,726.72

CAC 40 gain of 46.04 points to close at 4,858.85

FTSE100 gain of 38.6 points to close at 5,932.20

NIKKEI 225 gain of 377.9 points to close at 13,688.30

On the NYSE today, advancers came in at 848 decliners totaled 2,302; unchanged came in at 80; new highs came in at 47 and new lows came in at 52. Momentum stocks traded by active Day Traders on the NYSE today: CME Group, Incorporated (CME) shed 5.06 points with a high on the day of $525.00, a low of $510.70 for a closing price at $516.44; Transocean, Incorporated (RIG) shed 0.55 points with a high on the day of $140.36, a low of $136.61 for a closing price at $138.18; MEMC Electronic Materials Incorporated (WFR) gained 1.84 points with a high on the day of $82.40, a low of $78.00 for a closing price at $80.25; Ritchie Bros. U.S. Conference Board data released today: January Lagging Index remains unchanged; January Coincident Index rose 0.1%; January Leading Index fell 0.1%.

Philadelphia Fed February New Orders fell 10.9 versus January drop by 15.2; Philadelphia Fed February Employment came in at 2.5 versus January drop by 1.5; Philadelphia Fed February Price Paid came in at46.6 versus January reading at 49.8; Philadelphia Fed February Price Received came in at24.3 versus January reading at 32.0.

Department of Energy released Crude Oil Inventories today: U.S. Crude Oil Stockpiles rose 4.2 Million Barrels in the week compared to expectations of an increase by 2.9 Million Barrels; U.S. Gasoline Stockpiles rose by 1.1 Million Barrels in the week compared to expectations of an increase by 1 Million Barrels; U.S. Distillate Stockpiles fell by 4.5 Million Barrels in the week compared to expectations of a drop by 1.5 Million Barrels; U.S. Refineries ran at capacity of 83.5%ompared to expectations of a drop by 0.1 Pts at 85.0%.


U.S. Jobless Claims fell 9K to 349K in week of February 16 compared to survey of an increase by 1K; U.S. Continuing Claims for week of February 9 increased by 48K to 2,784,000; U.S. Jobless Claims for week of February 9 Week revised to 358K from 348K; U.S. Jobless Claims 4-Week average highest since October 2005; U.S. Continuing Claims Highest Since October 2005.

Commodities Markets
The trend was lower across the board today for the Energy Sector: Light crude moved lower today by $1.47 to close at $98.23 a barrel; Heating Oil moved lower today by $0.02 to close at $2.72 a gallon; Natural Gas moved lower today by $0.05 to close at $8.92 per million BTU and Unleaded Gas moved lower today by $0.02 to close at $2.56 a gallon.

Metals Markets ended the session higher across the board today: Gold moved higher today by $11.00 to close at $948.80 a Troy ounce; Silver moved higher today by $0.19 to close at $17.95 per Troy ounce; Platinum moved sharply higher today by $49.40 to close at $2,188.20 per Troy ounce and Copper closed higher by $0.10 to close at $3.82 per pound.

On the Livestock and Meat Markets, the trend was lower across the board today: Lean Hogs ended the day lower by $1.08 to close at $64.00; Pork Bellies ended the day lower by $0.45 to close at $94.50; Live Cattle ended the day lower by $0.45 to close at $94.50 and Feeder Cattle ended the day lower by $0.65 at $108.10.

Other Commodities: Corn ended the day higher by $1.50 at $537.75 and Soybeans moved higher today by $7.75 to end the session at $1,424.75.

Bonds were higher across the board today: 2 year bond moved higher by 10/32 to close at 100 9/32; 5 year bond moved higher by 27/32 to close at 100 11/32 today; 10 year bond moved higher by 1 to close at 97 24/32 and the 30 year bond moved higher by 1 2/32 to close at 97 9/32 on the day.

The e-mini Dow ended the session today at 12,268 with a loss of 161 points on the trading session. The total Dow Exchange Volume for the day came in at 220,118 which are comprised of Electronic, Open Auction and Cash Exchange. The end of day results for the CBOT (Chicago Board of Trade) which is comprised of the total Exchange Volume for Futures and Options (EVFO) including Electronic, Open Auction and Cash Exchange ended the day at 6,397,374; Open Interest for Futures moved lower by 99,643 points to close at 10,780,569; the Open Interest for Options moved higher by 146,453 points to close at 10,773,111 and the Cleared Only closed higher by 445 points to close at 27,104 for a total Open Interest on the day of 21,580,784 for a total Change on the day with a gain of 47,265 points.
