I had been a partner with eToro for several years but I had only ever successfully referred a single "active" trader, as far as I could tell anyway, based on the limited information available on the partner page. This single, active trader apparently made lots of trades and I racked up hundreds of US dollars worth of credit in my partner account.

It took a LONG time to actually get the money, because eToro doesn't seem to "like" anyone from the United States, which is where I happen to be. But after months of efforts on my part, with the help of my account manager, I eventually I got my account set up in such a way where they were actually paying me. And it was nice.

But after they paid me once, then the "active" trader continued to make trades, and I began to build up more money in my partner account. That's when they started to complain. They wanted me to successfully refer more people. They really didn't want to continue to pay me for trades being made by a person I referred in the past, UNLESS of course I continue to refer lots and lots of more people.

But when I asked nicely, the manager on my account sent me my payment, a few more times.

Then, without warning, and without any further communication, they simply deleted my partner account and I am no longer able to log in, as it now gives me the message that my account "isn't properly set up".

All because they just don't want to pay me anymore for a profitable referral that I sent them. They would much rather pocket all the money, and not share that small percentage with me. So what better way to solve that problem, than to simply delete me partner account. Hurray, problem solved!

    Well played, eToro.

Seems like a general behavior of a broker when all hell breaks loose. The same thing happened to Avatrade and many others who were dealt at the same expense. I guess this is how a broker behave huh?
