Someone is trying to defend the GBP very forcefully. GBP has recovered nearly 80% of the morning drop.

Yes Daren. Reversal is too sharp. Headlines explain it like "investors prepare for hawkish Fed minutes", but hardly this is the reason. I suspect that investors start forming new portfolios. Second - political issue of Senate Speaker voting, they can't choose the Speaker for few times. Gold is rising together with gold. This is usually happens when non-financial risks involved.
