EURJPY 1:30 GMT Wednesday

I'm trying to understand what happened EURJPY 1:30 GMT Wednesday. It shot up like a rocket from around 83.000 to 83.900. I assumed there was some news event I was unaware of, but I couldn't find anything. What happened to make it do this?

I am told that the Bank of Japan "intervened" with the Yen.

Yes, it was in the news about the Japs government intervention, plus more supports for the new PM too.

If you check the chart, not only EUR/JPY shot-up like a rocket, but GBP/JPY, USD/JPY, and to a lesser extend the AUD/JPY too. Made quite a few pips from trading these pairs too : )
