Dear Readers and FPA management,
Recently, we have come across a fraudulent activity and we wish to warn all of our clients, FPA visitors, and potential traders.
There are at least 2 people using the names of "Dr. Seif El-Haj" & "Nizam Eddin Bin Hamad" which might claim to have contacted (or will) you from a trading company* and will tell you that in order for you to withdraw money from your trading account, you need to make a payment to a bank account that they will provide.
So far, this is what we found:
1. They usually approach the Middle-Eastern community with an emphasis on Arabic speakers.
2. The names they use is Dr. Seif El-Haj or Nizam Eddin Bin Hamad.
3. We are familiar with 2 trading companies they claim to be calling from but most likely, it is a wider phenomenon than what we know.
3A. The companies' name that they use is FXPM (FXPMarkets) or Q8Trade. As said before, they might be using more false names.
4. They used similar email domains to the origins (e.g. fxpm.co.uk instead of fxpmarkets.com and q8trade.org instead of q8trade.com
5. They use a brand called Veta Trader to scam people, vetatrader.com/en/.
5. Most likely, they are experienced and intelligent scammers and surely, it is not their first time.
6. They call mainly from London or Kuwait. Most likely, they frequently change phone numbers but the numbers we know of are: +96522205009, +442080891476, +442036775552, +442080892386, +447978359383.
7. They falsify documents and they illegitimately put company logos on these documents in order to make it look more genuine.
8. Do not transfer any funds nor allow credit/debit card payments to be done without verifying it with the company itself.
9. They might change their names/companies/numbers and emails but their method will most likely be similar.
Dear readers, please be warned and take it into consideration when receiving a call like that.
We advise, not to talk with any unfamiliar contacts if you already have a person of contact in the company you are trading with.
Also, if you have been contacted and want to make sure if you are talking with the correct person, go to the company's website and call their main phone number and ask them about the previous call.
If you have been contacted by these people, please contact me as soon as possible or contact your trading company.
