Discuss is for general discussions of a financial company or issues related to companies.

Info is for things like "Has anyone heard of Company X?" or "Is Company X legit or not?"

Compare is for things like "Which of these 2 (or more) companies is best?"

Searching is for things like "Help me pick a broker" or "What's the best VPS out there for trading?"

Problem is for reporting an issue with a company. Please don't just scream "CompanyX is a scam!" It is much more useful to say "I can't withdraw my money from Company X" or "Company Y is not honoring their refund guarantee" in the subject line.
Keep Problem discussions civil and lay out the facts of your case. Your goal should be to get your problem resolved or reported to the regulators, not to see how many insults you can put into the thread.

    More info coming soon.

Problem IC Markets SCAM ($43,450 LOSS)

I am having an issue with a company
I cannot speak about other countries and regulators, but I believe ASIC and some of their crooked brokers are running these rigged casinos only for one purpose and that's pumping billions of dollars to Australian banks by overseas victims.

They couldn't care less how they treat their clients as long as they run a profitable show and pay their hush money.

ASIC is truly a joke forexteamau, even on their website they wash their hands of any dealings with these companies that they are supposed to be regulating...when the money is too huge morals are sadly out of the window.

This video explains how brokers can trade against us. Apparently there are lots of back-doors and software that can used for market manipulation, virtual plugin is just a simple one. It could be what happened in your case @Pheniox123. They restricted my account leverage around 4 -5 AM my local time. If check other thread and reviews, they usually go hunting when they know trader is not around.

Everything is summarised in this video forexteamau; thank you for sharing and confirming the dirty tactics that shady brokers like IC markets are playing behind the scenes.

The more people come forward and the more awareness traders will have and ensure no one spend a dime with them and find other reputable traders to trust with their money and ensure they are getting a fair shot at forex and not just be engineered to lose all your money (even when you get it right).

Thanks

Quick update:

1) ASIC acknowledged complaint but not sure what they will do.

2) AFCA also confirmed complaint and have a case number against ICMARKETS now. They have till the 2nd of September to respond; so will update you.

3) Working with my bank to fire up a chargeback; as lucky I paid via my credit card all the way.

4) Lawyer is preparing a case and awaiting outcome of the above steps.

Thanks and will update you.

Brokers for sure they manipulate prices, but seeing your trading history, I would not blame the broker at all. They can not manipulate you to keep an open position losing more than 2k with small lots. There was a serious case of overtrading and/or reckless hedging. And when cases like that oil day happens, all brokers do the same, and precisely if they were still running during that period, your account would have been wiped anyways.

but they are fully regulated etc so surely there are caps on what they can and can't do to prices...?

here the problem seems to be a leverage and swap change, not a price itself, and even during high volatile periods prices tends to change a lot, not only ICmarkets do that

Lucasgs5, thank you for joining the conversation; but I find it strange that someone who hasn’t posted anything suddenly posts 3 messages and 2 of those are to defend ICMARKETS (one on this thread and one on another scam post about ICmarkets).... maybe it is a coincidence; and maybe it’s a coincidence that my account was liquidated overnight due to suspicious pricing manipulation, leverage reductions, swaps increases...maybe it’s all a coincidence. Like I said before; go through the scam section and I guarantee you that you will find so many “coincidences” such as mine.

Thanks

Thank you so much Adamcantor, this is exactly it. They run around with that regulation badge on their websites and should be accountable for their actions. I mean if they can do what ever they want (which they do to thousands of unsuspecting traders) then this is not trading at all; more like a money pit that we throw our money in.

Thanks,

Lucasgs5, I see you used another post on this thread (making your posts 4...3 of those now defending ICmarkets). Anyhow, so in your first response you confirm and agree that this broker (and others according to your message) manipulate prices... WHAT? And this is acceptable and we should just take the hit and burn our money in the process. This is the whole point of this thread....their price manipulation cost me $43,450.00
