Will the money have to be paid back what people took out as profit ?

What I can’t understand is the police say they still have not got anything on him after a full year? So will people who drew money out pay back to the proceeds of crime people ?

What you need to understand is nothing will, or can, happen without all of the facts.

Regardless of what they have already, there is still purportedly more information to gather through the Cypriot authorities.

Only when the police and prosecution team have gathered everything they need will this case be moved forward.

Furthermore, cases such as this will commonly take 5+ years to be resolved. AFTER all of that, if Declan is found guilty, it is probable that anybody who financially benefited will be ordered to pay back a portion, if not all, of the funds under the 2002 proceeds of crime act.

Right I see I’ve not come forward to declare mine yet what I cannot understand is why they have not found my name or details on Declan’s laptop or bank statements. Or a lot of other peoples ? I rung the police anonymously and asked about the money I had taken out which was a lot if I would need to hang onto it to pay back and they said no way will anything get paid back as it would be impossible task? Do you think that’s not true?

That really is a question best asked to a solicitor specialising in this field.

The CPS have been known to forego reclaiming ill gotten gains, but my personal advice would be to prepare for the worst; in a case like this, in a location such as Scunthorpe, it’s likely that they’d want to make an example of it.

But **** it, you could also just roll the dice and enjoy the money as chances are this won’t be resolved for a good long while yet!
