Oh, please man. How can you take "Calculated Risks" with Brokers you don't know well?
Forex is as good as online BlackJack and all. Both are "Brokerages" without premises. Cyberspace is their domain. No doors to knock on.
They all say "You loose, we Loose" "Major banks provide our liquidity"
Cr@p and all I say.
As long as there are enough investors to loose money then they are liquid enough to pay albeit reluctantly to winners.

Part of calculating the risk is knowing your broker. This is the same for all forms of trading. Some banks even find ways to rip off people with savings accounts, but placing money in a bank isn't considered gambling. It only takes a couple of minutes to check and see if a bank is licensed and regulated as well as seeing if there are any serious consumer complaints. Researching brokers takes more effort, but can be done. You can do it yourself, or you can go to a service like F-Man is setting up and have it done for you.

Well, this kind of a question is relevant for any kind of trading including stocks and commodities. I don't think that trading is gambling, but the truth is that many traders make it gambling by leveraging with hundreds, going in and out of the market without a clear agenda and so on. For traders who use this ""system"" I strongly recommend that they just go to a casino. At least there, they will enjoy the game and won't get too disappointed. I guess that if you are asking this question it would mean that you are taking your first steps into forex. So my advice to you is: don't use high leverage , don't overtrade, try to learn from each trade and you will survive the complicated but exciting world of forex. Otherwise, it is just gambling.

Far far from it – it’s not gambling, though many people consider it a gamble.
Forex can be very risky but not if you have self-discipline, than you can enjoy from a beautiful world with many profit opportunities. Don’t start trading without learning first, then start with a small amount >> don’t use big leverage and in every trade use Stop Loss!!!
Good Luck! :)
