Scammers contact victims on dating websites (Tinder, Coffee Meets Bagel, Hinge, FB Dating, 2RedBeans, etc.) and pretend to be interested in a relationship. They will spend weeks greeting you every day acting like your new best friend but suddenly one day they talk about investments. Scammers also contact victims on WhatsApp, Line, WeChat, Telegram, Linked In, IG, etc. and pretend to contact you by accident but then ask to be your friend and start communicating with you every day. After a while, they talk about their investment in crypto or forex and state they have someone who guides them (usually an Uncle).

Scammers use VOIP numbers with country or area codes for the Country a victim lives in to try and make it look as if they are also a Citizen of your Country. They always have an excuse for why they cannot meet in person or for why they won’t have a video call with you. Some scammers have demo accounts they ask victims to open and practice with them as well as fake screen shots they send to trick you into thinking they are making a lot of money. All of this is part of a script and the scam is called Pig Butchering. Most of the scammers work in scam compounds in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Myanmar.

The website below is a Scam and you should NOT do any business with this company. This is a WARNING to never give this company any of your money.

These scams are called Pig Butchering. Please see the website and video below for more details.

I was given the address kbit.vip by a girl from a dating site so look out for this too. This site looks the same as the screenshot in this forum thread.

This girl used a dating site to get me onto WhatsApp then we had a chat that we eventually used video chat. She was telling me how lucky she was that somebody showed her this so I said ok I'll try it too. Then she took me through the steps process of joining okx (a legit trading app and wallet for anybody who is not familiar with it) to set up a wallet and wanted screenshots of everything, yes even my verified screen (which I did not send her without blacking out the details). She did ok to make me think she is for real but I was a bit suspicious which is why I blocked out any personal info in-app screenshots. As soon as I saw the website address I was confirmed it was a scam and searched for it and found this thread. if you are not web savvy, this would be easy to miss so here are some tips:

Use a whois lookup site to look up the domain owner. Check to ensure the domain was not registered only recently because scam domains will be new (less than a year). Do a search for "exampledomaiuname.vip reviews" to see if the website has a lot of credible reviews because a legit trading platform will have reviews by bloggers and on places like forexpeacearmy. Also, check trustpilot.com for reviews.

Anyway, Now I'm on to her, I'm just replying saying I can't access the site. it is down. She is asking me for screenshots, I'm saying what of? Just wasting her time for a while until I tell her I'm onto her.

She wants me to deposit funds into okx then join her scam site. Obviously, I am not going to that it any further, I'm having fun with her now playing dumb about not being able to access her VIP site :) make her waste time trying to see why it doesn't work :).

If you are having a serious problem with a company, you should open your own thread in Scam Alerts and give details.

Why your own thread?

1. If the person who started this thread has their issue resolved, this whole thread will be marked as resolved.

2. Your thread can have a link from your review. This makes your issue more visible.

3. Issues can be different. Having your own thread makes it easier to get advice specific to resolving your issue.

A girl reached me on mingle2 a dating app and claimed that she was looking for a longterm relationship. We talked on whatsapp and for 3 days she was greeting me sending messages and voice notes and sending her photos and even called me a video call but i wasn't able to answer i was at work at this time, until the fourth day she started speaking about investment and how she made a lot of money using KB app and said i want to help you. Unfortunately for her i already read this review by captain about scammers contacting victims on dating apps and advising to use KB, so i just kept talking with her and said that i liked her and wanted her to be my gf, and claimed to have no idea about crypto, i had some fun for a while since i was bored alone in a new country, and today i surprised her and told her that since day one i know about KB scammers and that i have a great knowledge on blockchain and own bitcoin and told her that her phone could be hacked if she continues scamming. Long story short she blocked me these are her number be aware guys:
+447384138708
+447467519581
And two other numbers i deleted already.
