At the closing bell, here is how the major indices ended the session: the DOW (Dow Jones Industrial Average) posted a triple digit loss of 171.44 points on the day to end the session at 12,207.17; the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) posted a triple digit loss of 114.77 points to end the session at 8,827.48; the NASDAQ posted a loss of 34.72 points for a close at 2,326.20; the S&P 500 posted a loss of 21.46 points for a close at 1,330.61 and the RUSSELL 2000 moved lower by 4.12 points to close at 688.60. The FTSE All-World Index ex-US (top Large/Mid Cap aggregate from over 2,700 stocks from the FTSE Global Equity Index Series (GEIS) which covers 90% of the world’s investable market capitalization) posted a loss of 0.83 points to close at 238.24 and the FTSE RAFI 1000 posted a loss of 82.24 points to close at 5,439.24.

On the NYSE today, advancers came in at 1,356; decliners totaled 1,813; unchanged came in at 91; new highs came in at 27 and new lows came in at 40. Momentum stocks traded by active Day Traders on the NYSE today: Petroleo Brasileiro (PBR) gained 2.19 points with a high on the day of $106.99, a low of $103.73 for a closing price at $104.62; CME Group Incorporated (CME) shed 6.14 points with a high on the day of $647.00, a low of $628.14 for a closing price at $629.00; ITT Educational Services Incorporated (ESI) shed 4.37 points with a high on the day of $87.00, a low of $81.15 for a closing price at $82.25; Schlumberger Limited (SLB) shed 2.62 points with a high on the day of $82.71, a low of $76.46 for a closing price at $77.70; Rio Tinto plc (RTP) gained 15.68 points with a high on the day of $376.87, a low of $365.72 for a closing price at $369.69; Mastercard Incorporated (MA) gained 1.65 points with a high on the day of $196.00, a low of $187.51 for a closing price at $193.43; Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan, Incorporated (POT) gained 3.64 points with a high on the day of $137.18, a low of $131.24 for a closing price at $132.74; MEMC Electronic Materials Incorporated (WFR) gained 0.50 points with a high on the day of $79.00, a low of $71.67 for a closing price at $72.02; Transocean, Incorporated (RIG) shed 0.91 points with a high on the day of $133.44, a low of $126.07 for a closing price at $127.11; Mosaic Corporation (MOS) gained 0.14 points with a high on the day of $98.00, a low of $89.70 for a closing price at $91.40; DeVry, Incorporated (DV) shed 5.37 points with a high on the day of $59.47, a low of $50.56 for a closing price at $52.37; Affiliated Managers Group Incorporated (AMG) shed 9.96 points with a high on the day of $104.97, a low of $94.97 for a closing price at $95.78; City National Corporation (CYN) shed 7.25 points with a high on the day of $57.34, a low of $52.31 for a closing price at $52.75; CF Industries Holdings, Incorporated (CF) gained 4.06 points with a high on the day of $106.50, a low of $101.56 for a closing price at $104.13; Rockwell Automation Incorporated (ROK) gained 1.39 points with a high on the day of $58.70, a low of $56.56 for a closing price at $57.57; W.W. On the NASDAQ today, advanced totaled 1,393; decliners totaled 1,609; unchanged came in at 123; new highs came in at 15 and new lows came in at 88. Momentum stocks traded by active Day Traders on the NASDAQ today: SunPower Corporation (SPWR) gained 4.08 points with a high on the day of $76.93, a low of $72.31 for a closing price at $73.29; First Solar Incorporated (FSLR) shed 0.18 points with a high on the day of $183.97, a low of $169.01 for a closing price at $171.28; Baidu.com Incorporated (BIDU) shed 7.73 points with a high on the day of $330.00, a low of $295.26 for a closing price at $299.47; SunOpta Incorporated (STKL) shed 3.51 points with a high on the day of $7.00, a low of $5.50 for a closing price at $6.05; IDEXX Laboratories Incorporated (IDXX) shed 2.25 points with a high on the day of $55.28, a low of $51.30 for a closing price at $53.35; ScanSource Incorporated (SCSC) gained 4.93 points with a high on the day of $34.65, a low of $29.55 for a closing price at $30.63; Google Incorporated (GOOG) shed 8.09 points with a high on the day of $595.00, a low of $566.18 for a closing price at $566.40; Zions Bancorp (ZION) shed 1.28 points with a high on the day of $52.04, a low of $46.10 for a closing price at $47.40; Arkansas Best Corporation (ABFS) gained 3.94 points with a high on the day of $28.75, a low of $25.89 for a closing price at $27.45.

Commodities Markets
The trend was higher across the board today for the Energy Sector: Light crude moved higher today by $1.30 to close at $90.71 a barrel; Heating Oil moved higher today by $0.04 to close at $2.51 a gallon; Natural Gas moved higher today by $0.17 to close at $7.95 per million BTU and Unleaded Gas moved higher today by $0.04 to close at $2.32 a gallon.

Metals Markets ended the session higher across the board today: Gold moved higher today by $4.90 to close at $910.70 a Troy ounce; Silver moved higher today by $0.16 to close at $16.49 per Troy ounce; Platinum moved strongly higher today by $67.10 to close at $1,680.10 per Troy ounce and Copper moved higher by $0.01 today to close at $3.18 per pound.

On the Livestock and Meat Markets, the trend was mixed across the board today: Lean Hogs ended the day higher by $0.18 to close at $61.92; Pork Bellies ended the day higher by $1.25 to close at $85.88; Live Cattle ended the day lower by $0.08 at $94.38 and Feeder Cattle ended the day lower by $0.60 at $102.10.

Other Commodities: Corn ended the day higher today by $9.00 at $498.75 and Soybeans moved sharply higher today by $12.50 to end the session at $1,243.00.

Bonds were higher across the board today: 2 year bond moved higher by 9/32 to close at 102; 5 year bond moved higher by 23/32 to close at 103 30/32 today; 10 year bond moved higher by 1 12/32 to close at 105 22/32 and the 30 year bond moved higher by 2 13/32 to close at 112 8/32 on the day.

The e-mini Dow ended the session today at 12,279 with a loss of 86 points on the trading session. The total Dow Exchange Volume for the day came in at 212,995 which are comprised of Electronic, Open Auction and Cash Exchange. The end of day results for the CBOT (Chicago Board of Trade) which is comprised of the total Exchange Volume for Futures and Options (EVFO) including Electronic, Open Auction and Cash Exchange ended the day at 6,204,980; Open Interest for Futures moved lower by 20,156 points to close at 10,607,890; the Open Interest for Options moved higher by 203,718 points to close at 9,730,542 and the Cleared Only closed lower by 72 point to close at 21,838 for a total Open Interest on the day of 20,360,270 for a total Change on the day with a gain of 183,490 points.
