Discuss is for general discussions of a financial company or issues related to companies.

Info is for things like "Has anyone heard of Company X?" or "Is Company X legit or not?"

Compare is for things like "Which of these 2 (or more) companies is best?"

Searching is for things like "Help me pick a broker" or "What's the best VPS out there for trading?"

Problem is for reporting an issue with a company. Please don't just scream "CompanyX is a scam!" It is much more useful to say "I can't withdraw my money from Company X" or "Company Y is not honoring their refund guarantee" in the subject line.
Keep Problem discussions civil and lay out the facts of your case. Your goal should be to get your problem resolved or reported to the regulators, not to see how many insults you can put into the thread.

    More info coming soon.

MY GOD! Any decent forex brokers out there at all?

Yes, you're right to a certain degree but what about brokers operating out of the US?

Regards.

Hi Nancy,

forex-brokers in the UK are regulated by FSA which is at least as effective as the NFA in the USA. In many European countries, except Switzerland, even your equitiy will be insured up to about 50.000,-- USD.

Regards, Stony

Why do you single out Switzerland?

Although I'm trading with Saxo Bank (Singapore) right now, I'm also contemplating about Dukascopy.

Can anyone assist me in this please?

Hi Nancy,

I lost some money due to the bankruptcy or - more likely - illegal money withdrawals of the Swiss broker Neuimex. Another Swiss broker, Crown Forex, was closed down for similar reasons. There is no governmental regulation of brokers in Switzerland! So, everybody can set up a forex brokerage there.

It might be different with Dukascopy because they are working with several regular banks and financial institutions. I do not know, however, to what extent this affects regulatory matters. I only can recommend you a fine introducing broker who counsels clients of Dukascopy here in Germany:

.:: Forex - WorldTra.de LLC - Forex - Referring Broker Services ::.

I´ve been in contact with that guy for 4 years now, he is absolutely honest and fluent in English.

Regards, Stony

It's alright.

I've visited already.

Anyway, a few of us have decided to apply simultaneously soon.

We'll see what happens later.

Yes, but the NFA only covers American brokers and some of the new rules are pretty extreme.

So far I have been using FXPro and they have been pretty good.

Certainly the customer service is excellent and they have plenty of patience with stupid questions. Not that I ask so many these days.

I have also opened an account with FXOpen, yet to see how it goes.

Alpari UK is not so good, the customer service is obstructive if they don't like your point of view. I would not recommend them to anyone I like:)
