[Question] What happens when market opens with a gap

Hi guys I'm newbie here and haven't got understood what means gap. Could anybody to explain?

A gap is when there is a difference in price between the close of one candle and the open of the next. In that sense, they can be quite common, although less common in forex than other markets.

The type of gap being talked about here is the difference in the close price in a currency on the weekend and the open price on Sunday night/Monday morning depending on where you are in the world.

When this difference in price is represented on candlestick chart you can see a visible "gap" between the close of one body candle and the open of the next body candle.

There will be no trading activities once the market is closed.

Weekend market gap happens due to important event/news that occurred during the weekend after the market is closed.

Although there is no trading activity during the weekend, the market is already pricing in the effect of a particular event or news.
