Discuss is for general discussions of a financial company or issues related to companies.

Info is for things like "Has anyone heard of Company X?" or "Is Company X legit or not?"

Compare is for things like "Which of these 2 (or more) companies is best?"

Searching is for things like "Help me pick a broker" or "What's the best VPS out there for trading?"

Problem is for reporting an issue with a company. Please don't just scream "CompanyX is a scam!" It is much more useful to say "I can't withdraw my money from Company X" or "Company Y is not honoring their refund guarantee" in the subject line.
Keep Problem discussions civil and lay out the facts of your case. Your goal should be to get your problem resolved or reported to the regulators, not to see how many insults you can put into the thread.

Hello, I have been slowly returning to the forex market and was looking for some broker recommendations. I would prefer them to be regulated in some way as I am a US customer and would want the ability to trade crypto on them as well. I looked at a few and tried doing research on IG Forex, Hugosway, and Oanada I believe and I am shocked that the spreads are so high! Any info helps!

U.S. residents are pretty much screwed. All of the best brokers don't deal with US residents. We are stuck with dealing desks whose best interests is in us losing.

Spreads on crypto are always pretty high or do you just mean across the board?
I'd read about Oanda's spreads being high, but I've never used them

Offshore is the best choice for you probably. Have a look at some reviews online and see what people are saying about them before you sign up.

Issue with going regulated as a US citizen is the ability to get 24/7 crypto trading and with any half decent leverage. You're restricted enough on your forex leverage when regulated. I'm not sure IC Markets allow US citizens as the CFTC probably retstricts you using them. In any case their crypto is also more 24/6.5 as they have some weekend down time. A decent offshore choice is EagleFX to be honest. They've been around for a while now and have generally favourable reviews. The ability to send bitcoin payments to fund your account from a crypto wallet will allow you to use them without issue as far as I'm aware. You should then be able to make use of their 1:100 leverage if you want it. I think their spreads are ok but crypto spreads are generally wider than FX. They have a live chat service you can speak to without signing up too if you have any questions regarding suitability etc.

Ive went with unregulated brokers for over 2 years now. I had no choice at the beginning as I didn't have enough capital to use 10:1 or 20:1 leverage. I couldn't imagine going back to them conditions tbh. Ill always using unregulated now especially trading cryptos too

I'm also in the US and after a ton of research I came to the conclusion that offshore is the best option. You also get perks like higher leverage, 24/7 support, etc. I get that people are hesitant and often want a regulated broker but I've never had a problem going offshore.

I found CedarFX to be a pretty good off-shore option and spreads seem pretty competitive for this style of broker. Don't forget that whilst the spreads may be a little higher, you get many other benefits, such as generous leverage, many assets to trade and BTC deposits without KYC (that alone is a stand out feature for me). Unless you are a scalper, a few pips here and there should not be a deal breaker. Just my 2 cents!

Solid advice. I`m also with them.
