spot forex - just for big players?

Reading all these broker reviews, as a beginner, I have impression that finding a honest broker is a tougher mission than making a profitable system.
Does anybody have exact numbers of volume proportion relate to spot forex vs. forex futures, when it comes to retail (individual) traders?
