Sive Morten uses this often in his technical analysis and I looked up a simple explanation for it and found this:
It's exactly the same as a normal SMA, only it's displaced a few bars forward. The 3x3 DMA is a simple MA displaced forward 3 bars. You can do this manually on MT4 by creating a 3 period SMA, clicking on properties and where it says shift (displace) you type in 3
