What are range bars? What makes them different from time-based charts?

What are the Type 1, 2 and 3 setups I see in your videos?
There's a brief primer on our website HERE that talks about the basic setups we use. Essentially we are using momentum, tight periods of consolidation, and analysis of the market structure to pinpoint our trade entries and maintain an excellent risk to reward ratio. There are also more advanced variations of these setups as well in the Elite Range Bar course.
What pairs are traded in The Elite Range Bar System?
The pairs most commonly traded with Elite Range Bars are EUR/USD, AUD/USD, EUR/JPY and GBP/USD. EUR/USD is usually the primary pair we watch with a 3 pip (3RB) range bar chart (and sometimes a 4 pip chart as well) and accounts for the majority of trades. Lately the EUR/JPY has been an excellent pair to trade we have seen a higher percentage of EJ trades overall from traders using the 4 pip (4RB) range bar chart.
Our recommended range bar sizes are 3RB and 4RB for EUR/USD and AUD/USD, and for the more volatile EUR/JPY and GBP/USD pairs we use 4RB and 5RB.
Can your Elite Range Bar approach be traded during any session?
While most of the traders of The Elite Range Bar System trade it during the European session and the New York morning, it is possible to trade during Asia or the New York afternoon as well. As Asia can sometimes be quite slow most Elite Range Bar traders look at multiple pairs with AUD/USD and EUR/JPY being their top choices.
Is The Elite Range Bar System just trading setups or does it contain other content as well?
While the setups and trading plan we use with Elite Range Bars are important and show direct ways of implementing range bar techniques, there is much more content in the course that covers other topics as well. Chapters on timing market moves, using other indicators to complement your method, implementing M5 volume, and more provide you a number of additional tools that can be used in your trading. Many of the veteran traders who go through The Elite Range Bar System use these concepts and adapt them to their own time-tested techniques. Others take the Elite Range Bar trading approach as presented and trade it verbatim. The course has been designed to be powerful when used directly but also very flexible for those who are experienced traders and prefer to simply tinker with their methods. For many of these veterans, implementing range bars has improved their edge substantially over the long term.
