UniversalBrokerageFX.com, Pat Kiley, Trevor Cook, Marc Trimble

We the members of the Scam Investigations Committee of the Forex Peace Army have deliberated on all the evidence available to us and have reached a conclusion. It is our opinion that...

During the initial phases of the the failure of Crown Forex, the FPA placed a warning on UniversalBrokerageFX.com's review page since that managed forex firm used Crown Forex for many investor's accounts. Marc Trimble, an associate of UBFX owner Patrick Kiley jumped in to defend Crown and UBFX in the FPA's forums. Amongst other things, he claimed that Crown was well regulated and offered to buy any accounts for 90 cents on the dollar. Later, after Crown was liquidated and UBFX finally admitted that there were problems on it's homepage, Marc Trimble erased all of his postings in the FPA's forums. FPA's AsstModerator restored as much as he could of the posts and blocked Trimble's access to the account.

This seemed like a simple case of an account manager and his friend getting caught up in the damage caused by Crown Forex. Then, Patrick Kiley and Trevor Cook kept getting named by the SEC for various other investment frauds, many of them alleged Ponzi schemes. They claimed that the money was being placed in segregated accounts, but really seems to have channeled the money into accounts controlled by Cook and Kiley. This included money supposedly invested in client accounts at Crown Forex. They raised about $190 million. About $51 million was used to pay off old investors, with the money apparently coming from new investors. Cook and Kiley are also alleged to have diverted over $42 million for their own uses. It appears that they really did some forex trading, but lost about $40 million in the process.

Among the items currently seized is a mansion along with other assets purchased with that $42 million. Marc Trimble was reported to be living there along with Cook and Kiley.

Under these circumstances, we feel that there is no choice but to declare Universal Brokerage Fx to be a scam and both Patrick Kiley and Trevor Cook to be scammers. We consider Marc Trimble's involvement to be sufficient to name him as a scammer on ethics grounds. We also include all companies and associates listed in the SEC filings to be a part of this scam finding. These include the shell companies UBS Diversified Growth, LLC (not associated with UBS, AG of Switzerland), Oxford Global Advisors, LLC, Oxford Global Partners, LLC and many more. We offer UBFX, Pat Kiley, Trevor Cook, and any of their associates and associated companies the opportunity to have this scam finding lifted by meeting these requirements. First, all the companies and persons charged must be cleared by the SEC. Second, all those who invested must be paid all monies legally owed to them. Third, Trevor Cook must publicly apologize for his unethical conduct at the FPA. He must further make good on his offer to buy any outstanding debts owed to FPA members by Crown Forex at 90% of the last account balance..

UBFX.com, Pat Kiley, and Trevor Cook are all hereby blacklisted by the Forex Peace Army. We urge traders not to do business with any company associated with these people. For those who have given them money, we urge you to contact the receivers immediately. This case is so bad that it has it's own special websites set up.

We wish thank FPA member Pharaoh for his efforts on this case. This isn't the first time he's confronted someone in the forums over an issue that turned out to be a scam. We also thank him for writing up the article for this finding. We extend our regrets to all FPA members who lost funds.
