You will not be able to withdraw funds from them. Avoid them like a plague.

I have been trading the last 15 years and used more than 5 different Brokers.
It was my big mistake that due diligence was not done before i put in my hard earn funds with them in Aug 2022.
Biggest mistake,
I chose them because they advertised to be best Broker for Malaysian....obviously their excellent reviews( anyone can write them if you pay them well) is just a dirty ploy to entice ignorant newbies.
I should have read the reviews about them in FPA before i open an account. Pure stupidity and foolishness on my part.
- After 2 months of trading,I requested to withdraw my profits on 5th Oct 2022. It was not a big amount. You can call it a test run
- After more than 20 days, my withdrawal did not go through, not a single cent.
- Initially IG insisted that my bank has already receive the money. Showing a document that presumably was a proof that they already send to my bank.
- The funds that was supposed to be send to my bank was never received by my bank nor was it in my Trading account. It just went missing from 5th Oct, for more than 20 days.
- IG then turn around and changed their story, they now say that my bank rejected the transfer.
- I enquire with my bank and they said there is no records to show the funds ever came.
- I asked IG what was the reason my bank rejected the transaction, there was no response.
- Finally on the 25th Oct,after 20 days, the missing funds that was supposed to be transferred and received by my bank ( as IG insisted) appeared in mt MT4 account....voila !!!
- I had enough of their dishonesty, so i decided its best to close my account and request to withdraw all my funds on the 25th Oct.
- As advised by IG, i was to furnished them with my credit card details so that IG can transfer the funds through my credit card as the earlier method through bank wire was not successful.
- I did what was advised and provided everything they needed. IG proceeded with the withdrawal ( so it seems)
- The next day 26th Oct, IG send an email saying my credit card bank rejected the transaction....again.
- I contacted my credit card provider, they investigated and found there was no transaction from IG to their bank.
- I asked IG to show proof that the banks actually rejected the transfer as claimed by IG and also to find out why it was rejected. Could it be due to wrong name, bank name, card number, etc etc etc
- IG could not answer my question. All they responded that the email send to me was a mistake and the transaction should happen within the next 2-5 days. Not within a day.
- But why the email saying the transaction was rejected if the transaction has not been processed yet? It seems like the email has already been written and used as a template to be send to clients even if withdrawal was not processed yet by IG.
My suspicion( believe is the right word) : IG's Modus Operandi is to never actually process withdrawals at all, (its a delaying tactic so that the clients will give up and not pursue the withdrawals)...and blame the client banks for rejecting the transfer. The email template that was sent to client saying that my bank rejected the transfer was mistakenly send to clients too early( they made a blunder) thus exposing their scam. It should have been send to the clients after at least 2 to 5 days which is the normal timeline for the process to take place. They have been exposed
i am having a sinking feeling that my money will never be returned to me. The withdrawal will not be processed. They will blame it on your bank for rejecting it time and time again.. The customer service was just as horrendous just following their business plan. Twisting and turning. Delaying tactics and dishonest answers. Please do not even come near IG( Australia). Its a living hell. You will regret it. Of course some withdrawals will be successful...but a lot of the clients will not be so lucky.

unable to withdraw funds

Hi guys,
Just a quick note to alert people of the withdrawal issue I am having with IG.
I recently closed all trades and made a full withdrawal on 27th April. On 5th May, IG sent me a transaction report saying IG has sent me the funds, telling me to contact my bank instead. It's kind of weird as on the report, the beneficiary account number was not the same as my bank account number that IG has on file. My bank confirmed it did indeed receive the amount but due to an incorrect beneficiary account number, it had returned the funds back to IG.
I did my bit, informing IG about the problem, asking them to ensure the correct beneficiary number will be given to my bank on the re-attempt.
On the second withdrawal, IG informed me very quickly that it was unable to return funds to me. When I asked for a report, IG said there is no report available, I checked with my bank and found out that it did not receive any transfer of that amount. IG deliberately ignore my question of what beneficiary account number that IG sent to (if any)
So definitely an attempt from IG to prevent its clients from withdrawing their own funds
So please think carefully if you are thinking of opening accounts with IG and consider closing your accounts with IG. What is the point of trading if the broker makes it extremely difficult to withdraw funds?
Don't trade with IG
Jun 24, 2021 - 1 Star I have been with IG for about a year now. I made a few withdrawals and they were successful, However, from May, all my attempts to withdraw have been problematic. Nothing has changed from my side - same banking details as previously. But all of sudden, IG now says it needs 11 characters for your bank swift code - even-though my bank has 8 character swift code only and my previous withdrawal was successful with that code.
then IG said it's ok now, try again - failed miserably again - with a generic message - we're unable to return your fund!
Then they said their IG bank - Lloyd bank rejected my withdrawal as it has invalid country code. I checked and my IG profile country is matching with my domicile (ie Hong Kong)
Still waiting for their reply but my experience with this broker is not positive.

Thanks for the review. Your money is held in segregated bank accounts under trustee arrangements. This ensures that the cash remains yours, rather than IG’s. It also means that it’s easily identifiable as client money, so IG and its creditors don’t have any charge, liens, or rights of set-off or retention over it.
We have a number of segregated bank accounts at a range of credit-worthy high street banks such as HSBC. We intentionally ensure that client money is split between a number of banks, and we’re not permitted to hold it all in one place.
We may place funds in notice or term deposit accounts with a notice period or term of up to 95 days. Placing client money in notice or term deposit accounts does not in itself affect your ability to deal with or withdraw funds from your account with us, however, in the unlikely event of insolvency of IG, such amounts may not be immediately available upon request. Sure they offered a free $250, but then on my second day of trading I see a great trade, and I am a scalper btw. I'm about to place my trade and I see the spread is at $30. So I have to make 30 pips up before I am even profitable. Worst experience ever.

We will look at the liquidity available in the underlying market, offering our minimum spread when the market spread is particularly small. If spreads are wider in the underlying market we may match this. Sorry for my frank words, but I am afraid you are just lying. What a shame for a big broker! Just to let know, I used to trade with Alpari UK more than a decade ago. When it went bankrupt, I got my funds back from FCA's compensation scheme. No problems at all with UK tax or regulations as you said. After that, I traded with another UK broker until ESMA new regulaions on leverage restrictions came into force. Again, no problems at all with UK tax or regulations as you said. Then I changed to a Swiss broker for higher leverage but I did not close my a/c with my old UK broker. Recently I checked it and it was still active. Now I am considering using it back again. What is more, some of my fellow traders are currently trading with the UK branch of another broker. Again, no problems at all with UK tax or regulations as you said. Are those proofs enough for you? What a shame for a big broker!
Nov 22, 2021 - 1 Star I intended to trade with IG UK for reliability and safety of my deposits although the leverage is low. The link here is to their entity in Bermuda and on their Bermuda entity website they don't give any link to their UK entity for traders' choice of which entity/regulator traders want to trade with. This is a bad sign that such brokers often trade against their clients, thus they don't want their clients to open a/c with their well regulated entity or else they will have trouble with their regulator when clients complain about their bad behavior. After finding out this, I gave up my entention to open a trading a/c with them. However, I still hope one day in the future they may change their minds and openly give link to their UK entity for traders' choice. If so, I may give them a try then.

If you are not a UK Tax Resident you won't be able to be linked to the UK office for legal and tax purposes. The UK office is operating under the FCA and all the regulations wouldn't apply to you.
Therefore we do have an International office with regulations adapted for non UK tax resident.

Thank you for your additional comment. At IG only UK tax resident can apply for account under the UK office as the customer agreement comply with the FCA regulations. It is possible that other broker offers accounts in UK but we don't. You can find this information on https://www.ig.com/uk/about-us/international-offering.

I have been a customer of IG Australia for some years now
with little or no time to trade :)
But since I received information that they are closing my account in Nov
I am now fighting an uphill battle in simply withdrawing my funds
A am being fed a litany of lies involving AML guidelines regarding my withdrawal requesting information they have no legal right to ask for!
Seems that the only to get a refund is via legal means

At https://www.ig.com/en/trading-platform-devices/trading-platform-features/pricing-execution/cfds-direct-market-access they state that they provide DMA, however, in another part of their site ( https://www.ig.com/en/forex/forex-direct ) they explain that they just "provide a screenshot of the market" and then they you get a CFD with them, and they place an order based on that. Of course I didn't open an account.

Thank you for your review. With DMA forex you are trading based on underlying market prices and depth, what you actually receive when placing a trade is a CFD from IG. Forex DMA works like this:
1) DMA displays the best bid and offer price available for a particular market, plus further prices on either side of the order book
2) You place an order, and we instantly conduct a margin check to ensure you have sufficient funds to cover the margin on your proposed trade
3) If the margin check is successful we place an order in the market and, at the same time, create a parallel CFD between you and us

I had almost 5 thousand dollars.
I doubled my profit. When I tried to withdraw funds, they blocked all my attempts. They constantly unsubscribed that they were solving my problem, and in the end they wrote off all my profit. When asked to provide information about the reason, they unsubscribe that they understand the situation, they are constantly asked to provide the same data. I provided all the information, as a result, my money was taken from me. I attach an extract, it shows that I have repeatedly tried to withdraw money, and then there is some kind of write-off for -4,809. 65. But the funds are displayed as 9,798. 65, and in fact only 4,989. 00 is on the account.

I provided all the information, as a result, my money was taken from me. I attach an extract, it shows that I have repeatedly tried to withdraw money, and then there is some kind of write-off for -4,809. 65. But the funds are displayed as 9,798. 65, and in fact only 4,989. 00 is on the account.

I decided to become IG.com client. Registered and upploaded documents. Systen shows them approved but still asks me activation. I wrote to support on 26th april. They got back on 5 may. today is 11 may and they still did not solve my problem.

Very inefficient customer service

I have tried several times to open live account apparently since 3 weeks the team is thinking to open an account or not.
I had a live account with IG before however neither I could transfer fund through my bank account nor I could deposit with my master card or any other credit card the result was I couldn't trade, so I continued with my previous broker.
These people are certainly inefficient in their firm.
Avoid them is the simplest way to save yourself trouble and headache with their inefficiency.

I am a long term user of IG in the UK. I have low expectations of brokers, so don’t find IG too bad. I have not had problems with deposits and withdrawals. However, you are limited in the UK to the low margin regime.
I am an MT4 trader using Expert Advisors and I have grave misgivings that IG understand how to relate to my type of user. I found a couple of worrying discrepancies recently which made me decide to change broker.
Firstly, their variable spreads can be quite alarming and can definitely cause positions with close stops to close.
Secondly, the have different stop limits between their demo and live accounts. It sounds a bit technical but if you have spend a lot of time trying to achieve a sustainable EA using their demo accounts and constraints are different on live accounts, you can immediately start losing real money!
Thirdly IG impose limits on the number of trades on both live and demo accounts (both different again). That limit is not connected to the value being traded. With some EA strategies, you might have large number of charts each with an EA and they could be separately trading numbers of small trades. Possible hundreds of micro trades. A reasonable strategy to spread risk. But IG (and to be fair most other brokers) don’t inform you that the limit exists. You start to see trades being rejected with no obvious reason. Again this means that the EA does not perform in the way it did on the demo account.
Most worryingly, IG have confirmed that they don’t manage their demo accounts (I don’t know who looks after them). Nor could they even tell me what the trades limit is on their demo accounts. I had to find the number of trades allowed using a query supplied by Expert4x.
It would not be unreasonable to assume that a demo account mirrors a live account. You would think that was its purpose. Up to now I was only aware that the slippage may differ because demo trades don’t queue to get through the broker accounting system. From the above you will see that IG clearly don’t understand MT4 EA traders and thus are not organising their systems appropriately.

1/20/21The withdrawals that I made have cleared and are back in my bank account. I received an email from the trade desk, that outlined everything that was needed and was very helpful. If an account is closed you can call the bank and receive statements for up to 7 years. Below is the email. This was a good lesson for me, and is why I am sharing it here. It is very important to document everything, and keep your bank statements with deposit/withdrawal transactions with IG, either saved in PDF, or print out a hard copy, so you can scan later. You never know, a regulation can change in the industry, and you can potentially have funds froze. Not fun! Here is the email: I DID EDIT THE SENSITIVE INFO OUT OF IT.

Thanks for your email and I apologize for my delayed response. The withdrawals you made were successful. Next, to alleviate any future delays of withdrawals, we will still need to verify the cards you have previously used. You can get bank statements from your bank going back up to 7 years so this request should not be a problem for your bank(s). I will list when the last transaction into IG made with each of the debit cards that you have used so you can get bank statements for each of these cards.
- Card ending in xxxx the last transaction was April 19th of 2019
-Card ending in xxxx the last transaction was October 16th of 2019
-Card ending in xxxx the last transaction was July 28th of 2020.
As I have mentioned previously this verification is due to US regulations and is required of all Forex brokers.

Jan 18, 2021 - 2 Stars This is a warning to all who are considering IG (US broker). I have been trading with them for 2 years, I actually wrote a review back in May. As of this week I am no longer trading with them. To make a long story short, apparently a few weeks ago the NFA passed some new regulation requiring IG clients to upload and verify ALL deposits from their bank accounts by bank statement (either a screen shot or pdf). This is not new as it is for them to be compliant with anti-money laundering laws. I am totally fine with this, I have verified in the past, NEVER had a problem withdrawing. Where the problem came this past week was I tried to withdraw almost $30K from my account. I had to verify with my bank statement, no problem. I received an email that everything was verified, great. When I tried to withdraw I could not. I emailed the help desk, and they said I should be able to withdraw. Later in the evening I tried again and failed to withdraw, and emailed the help desk again. I received the cookie cutter reply that I need to prove my deposit from a debit card from 2 years ago, of which the account is closed and I have NO access to. I told them that, and got the same cookie cutter response. I threatened legal action, and said I was going to formally enter a complaint with the NGA and asked for the help desk person's ID number...No reponse. I reached out to my sales contact, and he elevated it. The next person was pretty much useless, as he told me the same thing about the old debit card. I explained again that the card, account, access are closed and that I cannot access any bank statement from that account. I did say that they should have all of my records of proof of deposits with bank statements, since I did it in the past, and that they should have those records since they are for compliance with Anti-money laundering laws...No reply. I did randomly Friday night try to withdraw, and according to my account it did withdraw, but I received no confirmation email. I'm hoping to see in a few business days if this was successful. It is for this reason that I will no longer be trading with IG. WATCH OUT!!!
May 22, 2020 - 5 Stars I joined FPA yesterday with the intention of totally ripping IG apart, given what happened yesterday when they had a global platform outage. As things unfolded, representatives from IG really stepped to the plate. I will explain below.
I have been trading with IG for over a year. Before opening an account, I checked out several brokers. I opened demo accounts with each broker and demo traded my strategy. I have been trading a number of years before delving into Forex, trading stocks and commodities.
I opened an account with both IG and one other broker. I really love the IG trading platform from the website, it is very robust. I do not trade the news but i love the newsfeed as well. I trade mostly from my phone using the mobile app, and I really love the charting on it as well. I also love the functions of using the app, buying and selling, setting alerts, stop and profit targets etc. Very easy to use and robust.
With regards to funding, yes I did have some issues withdrawing via ACH. I had to send a scan/screenshot of my bank statement in order to show that my deposited funds came from the same bank account that i was withdrawing to. This is an anti-money laundering measure that IG as a broker is required to do in order to be in compliance. The helpdesk was always quick to reply and address my concerns when this happened.
With that being said, I started depositing and withdrawing via my debit card, which has been great. I never had a problem with this. There were times where i wanted to deposit a larger amount, like $30K, and i would just call my bank to approve the charge, then deposit that amount into the account. Again, withdrawing was never an issue.
To make a long story short....yesterday IG had a global outage. I had 2 positions on, with stops in place. The price moved against me so i decided to just get out early. All it showed on the mobile app was the "Service Connection Failure" message. I tried signing in to the website, and it was frozen, then said "Unexpected Error". I called the trade desk 5 times and the received the message of the call not being able to be completed as dialed. I was like WTF! I took screenshots of all of this as it was happening, and i was prepared to write a review here, and file a complaint with the NFA. My stops were hit, and had a loss of $300, not a major loss, but still i was fuming.
This next part is where IG reps really shined. I emailed David, he was the rep who reached out to me when i started the account with IG. Great guy! I emailed him directly and he elevated my concerns. I received a refund for my loss in less than 24 hours.
I highly recommend trading with IG. Just my personal experience alone with the staff and reps is worth gold. Also, develop a relationship with your broker, as you would with a lawyer, realtor, banker, contractor etc. Take part in the webinars, and education material. I hope this review helps.

I was on the CFD account and an advisor told me it would change from $15 per US share (buying and selling) this month as I made transactions, even after reviewing my account. Another advisor informed me later this was not the case, and I would be charged these high commission fees. Not clearly stated on their website either that it is not applicable for CFD accounts. Very bad and unprofessional advertising.

My hard earned money that I worked tirelessly for earning a wage just like everyone else was stolen by these thieves who seem to have ties to sovereign hedge funds that run the world. Don't bother about getting your money back. You are their slave and they can get away with stealing your money by changing the Terms and Condition without your consent or permission. Don't expect regulators to come 'save you'. They are fully aware of what's going on but they won't do much about it. It's only a crime if you were to rob a bank but a bank can rob anyone because it's perfectly legal. Their platform is incredibly dodgy and full of exploits and questionable but somehow it's perfectly legal. Not sure the federal police aren't involved in this.

Adjusting your spreads on currency during certain periods so that it causes you to fall below the required available funds should not be allowed . They then margin call you and you loose thousands . This is ridiculous Do not trade with these guys please and tell your friends to stay away from them .

There were many times when trades were unavailable even when markets were open and there were sufficient funds .
Customer service is rubbish . At no time did they answer any call and only one reply from the many emails I had sent , yet when you are wanting to start up they give you a call straight away .
I am going to find a company with the lowest overnight fees and you should do the same

Too much slippage. Not EA friendly. Spreads are all over and with a larger account no bennies for trading a larger account or from USA. Simply not impressed with the standards or service. Also no metals trading. Missed the moves on gold! IG = instant gangbang to your account balance like market making. Buyer beware.

Ig Bank Open a Trade in xauusd. I can’t close this trade. I contact the customer service but nothing. The trade is still alive. You can see the open trade only if you choose the direct account of if. You don’t see it in the meta trader. Or you check your paper statement. I think it is not serious. I close the account.

If you have any intention of day trading stay as far away from ig.com as you possibly can. Their platform is hopeless. For example, you cannot even sort the biggest gainers from the biggest losers which is a most basic sorting requirement. They have no scanner for share trading or anything like it. The platform or work space has next to no functionality. The help files do not apply to a share trading account only CFDs. Total waste of time. And forget about support. Try waiting on hold for 40 minutes at a time and then they can't answer the questions in any case.

I was a trader with IG Market for 4 years. Yes i am an idiot for 4 years. First broker first trading experience was really good. Superb Platform. Back in 2014-2015 their platform was smooth. After updates, thats when the MANIPULATION STARTS
1) First of all no more scalping opportunity the way the candles run probably bought a new HFT trading software to fight scalpers and day traders. Im fine with that.
2) Afterwhich throughout the 4 horrible years and $100,000 invested with them i experience below and many of you should know better. Dont believe me? Go ahead and open and account and start being profitable;
-Freeze screens occasionally and subtly like a professional robber
-unfill, no fill, requote if its a winning trade especially during news block trade
-Sudden Widen spreads to take you out during overnight or weekends
-THEY MANIPULATE and ADJUST MY POSITION when i was asleep WTF! Multiple times i thought i am hallucinating at that point as you can tell IG was my Love of first sight before the update.
- Charts glitches and begin to change erratically
-Hunt Stop loss
- On my losing trade my charts are DIFFERENT!!! Comparing to other brokers, and my friends account!!!!
- Back and forth calling them for years excuse after excuse
-Sleepless nights
-Leverage was constantly change without informing only after calling my broker..

After sent them 3rd email they responded after 2 weeks and challenging: “ Thanks for your email. We have you ID and a copy of your XX Bank statement. We need to see the deposit to IG on the statement. This confirms that the funds came from the account and all profits are going back to the same account. Can you please provide us a statement that shows the deposit? Then I can process your withdraw.” Normally it takes few years for traders to be profits and somehow your bank had closed with any reason.... they will not allow you to withdraw profits. SCAMMER!!!!
Requested for paper check: they gave an answer: “ Thanks for your email. We do not issue paper checks. We do all funding and deposit electronically. ” SCAMMER!!!!

Established a demo account to reacquaint myself with MT4 trader and successfully used it for a week. But on Monday I attempted to resume trading but got the notice "No connection" I attempted numerous times to contact them by Email but received no response at all. I even discarded the original Mt4 and reloaded it only to be told my account was invalid; again I received no response.
Since this is indicative of their service I will go elsewhere

Terrible consumer support. IG asks for an bank statement to prove the deposit and they are always unable to verify the bank account. No clearly responses in emails or any response, either a solution for withdrawal.
I will make a report for regulators and do anything to alert people about this "broker" since 1974.

As someone mentioned before seems like their terms and conditions changes daily, they have really high overnight charges which should be calculated on the formula which is given on their terms, but in some instances they simply ignoring these calculations and charging you a fortune. Another issue which looks for me like some sort of fraud is manipulation with prices, many brokers does that, but not at that extent like IG. For instance now, price difference between IG and real US oil price is more than $7 dollars, which they gradually blend in later with the real price like that “stealing” large part of your profit. In other cases you can even notice differences not only in price but on chart as well.

Terms and conditions seem to change daily. Sometimes you wont be able to trade, on days when they know they are a likely to be hit hard.
I knew this from years ago but still tried to trade again recently. Surprise surprise my transaction was declined. After depositing with ease, it might take several days to get my money back and I will loose on exchange rates etc.... Should have learned last time.

I have a pending case against them with ASIC. I Bought FX call options over a couple of weeks, no other transactions. Paid premiums up front as you do when buying options . They closed out all my positions after the fx rate changed the premiums of the these transactions, weeks and days after the purchases. Yes my up front premiums, were adjusted to a different/worse exchange rate after i had purchased them. This put my account into margin call and they closed out all the positions crossing a 14 point spread!
Spent more than 1.5 hours on hold, during euro open, to their "24 hour dealing desk", never had a call answered.
No one response to email or calls over 2 days. Will update with the outcome of the ASIC investigation when complete and provide details to this site to verify.

IG group is pretending as a reliable forex broker but my experience with the broker proved the contrary. I have opened an account with them for my son and deposited some money. Only after started trading I came to know that they imposed all sort of restrictions on the trading account. I found that I could not open a trade without mentioning a Stop Loss and a Take profit. And the margin got increased each time when I increased the stop loss distance. The are calling it a Limited account.
I contacted their help desk and explained them I am using a strategy for which I do not use STOP LOSS. They said you have to prove by submitting your bank statement or any document which prove that you are strong enough to lose money by trading. I told them I am using my own money and you don’t have to worry about my loses. If I do not have money, I could not invest money for trading. I told them I have forex trading account with two more major Forex brokers and by using my strategy I am winning the trades without fixing Stop Loses. It all went to dump ears and they insisted me to send them my sons’ bank statement. I sent them the bank statement but they started insisting me to send them copies of other incomes and assets. I thought why do they ask me to prove my financial strength to trade with them using their platform and also the trades are not free. They are also benefited by my trades. Even then they did not take action to remove limitations on my trading account.
In fact I am using a trading strategy in which I keep on increasing lots and trade distances by opening pending orders. When they keep on increasing margin, I am unable to open new lots and the trade is getting disturbed. Also some of the Stop loss positions get triggered and the equity get reduced unnecessarily. I explained those idiots about how I trade and how the limitations on my account act as a real hindrance for my successful trading.
I would like to ask you what right the Forex Broker got to impose unnecessary restrictions on a client’s trading account as the money he uses to trade is his won and not from their family property. I explained them my problem and asked them to free my account from all the limitations at my own risk but they are not ready to do so. I really curse the moment I decided to open an account with IG the Idiots Group.

They always hack the ports similar to another broker both these guys use shared folder access on their MT4 and MT5 platforms be mindful. That means they have incorrect firewall on installation hence everything will be against your trades to swindle money. If you don't believe install them platforms and run CC cleaner it will pick the wrong firewall access these guys have on these platforms. That's why forex trading is risk and 90% of the traders loose money it is not because you didn't know to trade. Very genuine view after years of analysis.

they are one of the biggest brokers and used to be my main account but i had a terrible customer service experience once where they never chased through my claim. I get the sense that they have so many clients, one mere complaint is never bothered about. I had my stop activated when their charts showed it didnt get close bu they told me charts were indicative only (!!!). Anyway, I still use them as my back up account because they have more markets than anyone else. Mostly solidas long as you dont have a complaint or query.

I have used IG for almost 10 years for spreadbetting and MT4.
They are a decent broker that I still trade with after all this time, and I have always made good money from my trading. Deposits and withrdawals are easy and fast too.
I do agree with SOME of the negtive feedback though. Margins can be high and I suspect price fixing at times, but as I say I still make money with them so it's not so bad.
Their support is also not great. I will be continuing to use them, but certainly can;t give them 5 stars.

Watch out for this broker. In addition to the high spreads and slippage of up to 30-40 points and also stop loss hunting, customers are also deliberately included here because IG provides misleading information and indicates incorrect costs. At the trading with cfd's in crypto currencies they charge twice as much as what is described on the site and in the IG conditions. Customers pay more structurally as that is described. If you say something about it, they will block you from trading and try to sell you for stupid! I have watched that broker for years and they getting more bad by the day. You can call it a scam by now!! WATCH OUT

IG Markets holds the dominant market share for CFD/FX traders in Australia. As someone who has traded with IG (and some other CFD brokers too) for around 2 years now, I've come to realize the company is taking it's market power for granted. When trading through IG it is very clear you are trading with a b-book broker. They send out dodgy trade ideas daily, 95% of which are c***. They make their own pricing when the markets are closed, including on weekends. When the market is closed and they are offering their own pricing, they blatantly chase stop losses. I remember being short the hang seng index, and 5 minutes before the market opened they move the price up to my stop loss, slightly passed it then back down. I happen to know they use the dow jones index to price the hang seng outside of trading hours, the dow jones index didn't move up during that time. This kind of thing happens almost every time you have an open position in one of their grey markets during a trading break. I've made it a habbit to remove my stop loss before the market closes, especially in the hong kong 50 CFD. Overall, I'd say dont bother with IG, even though they are market leaders, they are most definitely dodgy and only want you to lose money. There are far better brokers out there.

Since I've signed up with them a little over a week ago its been issue after issue. From the pairs being grayed out (THE PAIRS WITH FX BEHIND THEM) to the system always being offline, not connected to MT4. I keep missing my entry points in trades due to the error message "Not Connected" & "Off Quotes" indicating they have connection issues. I'm very annoyed. I want my money back and to find a new broker because this is beyond ridiculous. The helpdesk doesn't even know what they are doing.

IG Markets in Australia are criminal. I was a premium client with them until in 2016 they suspended my trading purely because I was profitable. I was profitable trading CFD's and Binaries. They take the other side of clients so if a client is profitable they aren't making money (don't give me the nonsense they make the spread).
I have since traded profitably for a friend and my mother, but they quickly restricted that trading then suspended it.
They are a scam if they only keep clients who lose money, which is what they do. They are happy to let inexperienced traders lose entire life savings, yet suspend legitimate traders who are using their service for the reason (they claim) to provide it.
ASIC and the Ombudsman are pathetic, almost corrupt, so it would be helpful to get numbers and form a group to take on these clowns. I can detail and support my claims too. I am not a sour grapes trader who's lost money.
I have since traded profitably for a friend and my mother, but they quickly restricted that trading then suspended it.
