Description from EA site:
Ed's Candle Pattern EA is a reliable MT4 Expert Advisor that triggers trades according to various price reversal formations (candle/bar reversal patterns). The EA recognizes the following price reversal patterns:
Hammer (bullish/buy signal)
Shooting Star (bearish/sell signal)
Dark Cloud Cover (bearish/sell signal)
Piercing Line (bullish/buy signal)
Bearish Engulfing (bearish/sell signal)
Bullish Engulfing (bullish/buy signal)
Morning Star (bullish/buy signal)
Morning Doji Star (bullish/buy signal)
Evening Star (bearish/sell signal)
Evening Doji Star (bearish/sell signal)
When there is a price reversal signal the EA looks at the position of the price on the stochastics indicator, bollinger bands indicator, and custom stochastics divergence indicator (included with your purchase) to confirm and refine the signals IF you have the various confirmation inputs on true.
There are separate inputs (in the EA) where you can turn the stochastics, bollinger bands, stochastics divergence, simple movign average (to detect trend direction) confirmation signals on, or off if you don't want to use any confirmation and just trade trade every price pattern signal (without confirmation you may end up trading a large number of false signals).
Each price reversal signal can also be turned on (true) or off (false) in the inputs. For example, if you want to only trade hammers then you can put that on true, and everything else on false. Then, if you want to confirm the hammer signals only with stochastics confirmation then put the stochastics input on true. Then only those hammers will trigger a trade that are confirmed by a stochastics oversold signal. (Hammers are potential reversal patterns that indicate a potenial reversal to a uptrend. The shooting Star is the Hammer version of a reversal signal to a downtrend).
