Is Askobid A BIG SCAM!!!

Service use: Live Length of use: 0-3 Months
I have been treated so badly by AskObid its unreal. I opened up an account with 250 dollars, I was then told by an account manager that it was not enough money to open an account and to put an extra 2,000 dollars on a credit card or borrow the money when I told them over and over again that this was not possible. the account manager got angry and kept saying how successful he is and he didn't need my investment, but he took it and the account manager invested it and said by tomorrow I will lose it all. Sure enough I lost the lot. I now get this company calling me about 5 times a day saying I need to invest money. They are stealing peoples money. they are jokers DO NOT USE THEM!!!! when I ask for my money back they keep saying it is my fault. But in reality the account manager invested the money and lost it to prove a point because he got angry because I could not get the extra 2,000 . GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK ASK O BID !!!!

Where are these reviews coming from??? I've been with Ask o bid for about 1 year now, and haven't experienced any problems withdrawing my money. I haven't done any bank transfers, but having them transfer the money to my bank/debit visa has been a breeze... They have even called me, without me requesting it, just to talk about my trading strategies.. I agree that the customer service when calling in isn't professional, and hopefully they fix it, but depositing and withdrawing with my debit card works.. I had to send in my information before withdrawing.. I see nothing wrong with that.. I'll give them 4 stars, only because they answer the phone in a non professional manner..

I have a live account with AskOBid. After doing my testing with another broker I was thinking of topping up my account in January going live with my system. Last weekend it was still ok, but this weekend I just went into AskOBid and lo and behold, my account has been zeroed off and the graphs no longer display. Guess they have closed shop! Fortunately my account was down to only a couple of hundred dollars.

I have a live account with Askobid, but I can't get my money out of my account. They don't even respond to my e-mails. It is like no one it there! Do not use them!

Opened a live mini account on a Friday with a $250 deposit. By Monday morning I was up $80 on a few open positions when lo and behold my original $250 was withdrawn from my account without my authorization. On live chat I was told that this was done because askobid was no longer accepting US clients. When I asked why I was allowed to sign up the previous business day, the rep had no answer. Fine. What about my open positions? The rep said I had no open positions, but I did. I then closed them and had the $80 left in my account. I asked that they credit me with the $80. This small request was refused, with the rep telling me I could only receive my initial deposit back. I asked if an email had gone out letting US clients know of this change and if I could receive a copy. I was told there was one, and that it would be sent to me within an hour. It was never received.

If askobid is willing to stick it to me for a meager $80, I can only imagine the games they play with higher accounts.

PS: anyone out there have any proof that askobid no longer accepts US clients? Because I haven't seen it. Even if true, it still was not right what they did.

It took me nearly 2 months to complete my withdrawal and they still kept my profits. They gave me some excuse why they could not return my profits. In the 12 years that I have been trading forex, this is by far the worst broker that I have come across. Customer service is nonexistent, and all you get are excuses and the silent treatment when you decide that you want to withdraw your funds.

I am writing to update the situation with ASKOBID. I could not figure out how to add this to my previous post. I am still unable to withdraw my money. I have made numerous phone calls and chat via liveperson. One minute I am told that everything is good and I get an email saying the withdraw is approved and then the money appears back in MT4. Then I am told I am missing documents and what's worse it seems no one can tell me what documents I am missing. The is horrible!

2011-04-06 1Star I too have been had the same problem with ASKOBID taking my money and not giving it back and playing games with documents and lousy customer service. I sent an email to the compliance email to see if they are really trying to help fix these problems. I will update this post as more develops.

Like a number of the reviews, my biggest bone of contention with them is that - contrary to their marketing and public statements - it is a long, complicated process to withdraw funds.
I would not recommend doing business with these people.

The metatrader arm of askobid is horrendous. I have to submit endless piles of paperwork and proof of everything from utility bills to drivers licenses. They even asked that I have a document from my bank saying I own the debit card and have it signed by a notary public!

Their trading is fair enough; I've had no trouble with that. The customer service is enough to make you want to fly to Cyprus and give them a mouthful. I called their USA hotline and a person in a heavy indian accent says hello like he cannot hear me. It is incredibly difficult to withdraw money.

Like Gary & Robert I was also told to submit documents when I wanted to withdraw. I submitted the documents and then nothing. After spending much time on Live Help (which was a very slow at times) they found my documents. I waited and then nothing. Then they said the balance was returned to my trading account and I have to submit my withdrawal request again. Then I could not log into the website to make my withdrawal request. Before I had to use my MT4 acc. no to log in and now it asked for an email address to log in. Live Help eventually said they would resend my login info, but they just resent my MT4 acc. no and password (which did not work because it asked for an email address). Entering my email at request password just returned an error. After many emails Tony Santana asked if I was using www.askobid.com to log in or www.askobid.com/metatrader because I have a MT4 acc. I have to use www.askobid.com/metatrader. Once I used this site I was able to submit my withdrawal request and I received the money no problem.
In my experience they are honest but a small "mistake" on my part should have been realized much sooner by them to avoid the stress I experienced while I thought I was not going to be able to make a withdrawal.
