HTG is the ISO currency code for the The Haitian Gourde. The symbol for the gourde is G. The gourde is subdivided into 100 centimes. Because of a previous peg to the USD at a rate of $1 = 5 HTG, 5 Haitian gourdes is often referred to as a Haitian Dollar. The gourde has been a free-floating currency since 1989.
Currently circulating coins are 50 centimes, 1 gourde and 5 gourdes. Currently circulating banknotes are 10, 20, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, and 1000 gourdes.
