Forex Signal (Thu, Nov 5, 7:00 am EST) UK Interest Rate Statement

Whats your take on Mystic Mervyn's QE policy that will accompany this rate decision Felix? Should be a given that the rate wont be changed but everyone will be watching the money press's down on threadneedle st with this announcement. +£25B = potentially already priced in given the last...

The lack of credibility & failure to do any of the things already mentioned in the past suggests this may be a money laundering scheme...

All going well so far. How many other people on this site trade as their main source of income out of curiosity??

    NZ Yahoo

Another kiwi here, kinda finally returning to NZ from the hell hole known as the square mile (central london) after 4.5 years. Have been trading for about 18 months & have for the last 3-4 been trading as my main source of income. Has been going very well. Best of luck to all you other kiwi...

    Adding to Winning Positions

Definently keep away from it when day trading. Its commonly known as 'pyramiding'. A better desciption might be 'house of cards'. Great when it goes your way but of course the issue arrises when the market goes against you & you end up being over leveraged against your initial account value...

Tax issues for Forex Traders in the UK

Funnily enough I just posted on this yesterday under another thread. Unfortunately FX trading is indeed classed as taxable income, same as your salary & the like. It is not classed as capital gains. Spreadbetting is indeed tax free. This is not my opinion btw, but what I was told last year by...

    negative account ballance.

You'll find that most will post automatic messages across their platform when your account gets very close to 0. Other than that I'd suggest you read the fine print of your terms & conditions, at the end of the day they're there to make money not protect you, they'd have to carry the negative...

What do you mean by 'brand new thing'? Looks like just another broker. The +44 is the UK international dialing code. The only sus thing I can see is that it doesnt state obviously (that I can find) who they're regulated by.

    HELP! UK tax basics

I've had this out with HMRC last year. FX income used to be a grey area several years ago, but no longer. FX trading is NOT classed as gambling (although spread-betting is), nor is it classed as capital gains. They treat it as normal income, which you will need to self-certify in addition to...

    brokers

Dear oh dear. Think someone must've had a bad experiance... Trading is my main source of income & I only trade spot. I wouldn't call myself a gambler, if I was I'd go to a casino. Nor would I call myself an 'uninformed poor bastard'. Maybe you're just no good at trading spot?? Not all brokers...

    The Weekend

I wouldn't classify myself as a long term trader & I hold plenty of positions over the weekends. Hasn't done me any harm, gap is often over 50pips & thin liquidity gives a wide spread when the market reopens anyway. If you (can afford to) hold on well into the asian/european session it normally...
