If you can find a broker that gives you good spreads when there is a news announcement and price spike then this could be possible. But VERY VERY risky and I have not found a broker yet that keeps spreads below 8+ pips when the news comes out
I totally agree with Jason19. Start with as small amount as possible. Most new traders lose all of their first deposit so you might as well make it a small one! Ideally you should use demo account until you are SURE that you can make profit

This sounds like a total scam. Do you have any verified account info like a myfxbook account etc? You need to really back this up with independent verification. If its true that is awesome but if not FPA is not the place for you
I agree with dianajs . Going back to demo is a great way to get your head back in shape. I was trading too much on a live account and then went back to demo and decided that only the best of the best trades I would take on a live account. This really helped me.
I don't know of a desktop toolbar but if youopen myfxbook and login there is an alert sound and pop up on the website when there us a news announcment. That might be helpful to you
