    Discuss is for general discussions of a financial company or issues related to companies.

    Info is for things like "Has anyone heard of Company X?" or "Is Company X legit or not?"

    Compare is for things like "Which of these 2 (or more) companies is best?"

    Searching is for things like "Help me pick a broker" or "What's the best VPS out there for trading?"

    Problem is for reporting an issue with a company. Please don't just scream "CompanyX is a scam!" It is much more useful to say "I can't withdraw my money from Company X" or "Company Y is not honoring their refund guarantee" in the subject line.
    Keep Problem discussions civil and lay out the facts of your case. Your goal should be to get your problem resolved or reported to the regulators, not to see how many insults you can put into the thread.

    More info coming soon.

Test Results are in!

This is screen shots from last nights trades.

The signal with GMT+1 setting, made 2 trades:

0

My one account with GMT+2 setting to simulate the signals setting, also made 2 trades:

0

We can see how close those trades are... the difference can be broker related but is minor.Now, my other account with the GMT+3 setting as that is the GMT setting based on the Broker server time factoring in DST. This setting made 7 trades last night, all closing in profit. Which was great!

For me, this confirms that the author did not update the GMTOffset setting when DST came in.

What i want to know is, is the author expecting those trades generated from his signal or is he rather expecting more trades like my account with the GMT+3 setting?

I have emailed him and hopefully my explanation above will be clear.

What are other people's opinion on this one?

The author came back and realized that his broker's support cannot be trusted. He agreed with me that he has not factored in DST, not as yet. He is going to decide and let me know if he adjusts his signals GMTOffset setting.

I also suggested to him to build an automatic GMTOffset calculator within the EA so that users don't have to figure it out :)

A new trading session starts at GMT 21. Vendor often had trades open after 22:00 forex4you server time (or GMT 20) before the new session start as shown in his myfxbook account. Your are right, trades should open after the new session start. He is off by one hour. Due to inactivity before and after the session start, the difference may be minor.

It seems that correct GMToffset setting is important for good results of this EA. What about the 3 parameters:
MovingPeriod=90
slow_ema_period=36
signal_period=55
Are these correct settings?

Hello Lazy Traders!

It seems to be VERY IMPORTANT to set the GMT offset very, very correctly.
Dear Alex, I am sorry about my bad comments. But you could explain it a litte more carefully, HOW IMPORTANT GMT offset can change between profit and loss. I used the standard settings and GMT offset was set to +2. But the different to my broker is 0 (zero)

I found a post on Myfxbook ( you should attach to your instructions or manual) , changed the GMT offset setting accordingly and now your EA is making profit.

I let it run on EUR/USD, USD/JPY, AUD/USD, EUR/GBP, GBP/USD, USD/CAD, USD/CHF.

Here is the post the helped me out:
"On your MT4 click on VIEW, MARKET and check the time there. This is your brokers time.

Than check this link: http://www.timeanddate.com/time/zones/gmt
See the GMT time now.
The difference is your GMT offset."

It is that easy !!! Why did nobody tell me before, Alex???

Happy Trades!
Yours Oks

This calculation could be done in the EA with available time functions in MQL4:
TimeCurrent() minus TimeGMT() gives offset in seconds.

TimeCurrent() is Broker time

The link below is a simple EA that does exactly this.... It will alert and advise you of your Broker GMTOffset. For some reason i can't attach the file on this post, i even tried zipping it.
