Review:Just an update on my previous review. I am posting below the RiskLevel settings I use on the Primeval EA, which are in fact the settings provided by Sergio Caruso. Tim Williams asked for this information and I assume other readers of this review may also be interested. Perhaps Tim could also post the GMTOffset settings he mentioned in his review.

GBPUSD: 10, EURUSD: 15, EURCHF: 20, EURGBP: 15, USDCHF: 15, USDCAD: 10, USDJPY: 10, GBPCHF: 10

There are a couple of trades in drawdown at the moment which is unusual for this robot, and I suspect that may have to do with the fact that I just setup this EA on a different computer and it had some connectivity problems when I was not there to monitor the computer. These trades did not appear on the demo account. The only other explanation would be problems getting a live price from the broker. But the account balance is still ahead of where it would have been without Primeval EA, even counting the current drawdown. So I am not going to change my rating at this point as Primeval is still performing better than any other EA I have tested.

2010-02-17 5 Stars I have been testing Primeval EA on a demo account for a few weeks, and also launched it on my live account a few days ago.
It is a scalping robot which uses stop losses to cut short losing trades. I have to admit that I have tried other EA's such as Robominer and No Loss Robot which don't use stop losses and while they are great in theory and work OK on large accounts over a long period, I have found that they seem to steadily erode account equity in the short-medium term to the point that I had to switch off these EA's or they would have wiped out my $1000 account.

So I am much happier with the Primeval EA's approach - it scalps aggressively on an M15 timeframe but also keeps drawdown in check by using the stop losses. There is a EURCHF grid trading strategy which I installed on one chart but I turned off that chart after a week or so as I am attempting to build equity quickly from a small account at this point. Maybe later I will try the grid trading strategy again.

By the way, I am very happy with the support provided by Sergio Caruso who is the admin for Primeval EA. He helped me sort out a few bugs when I was installing the EA, and has always replied to emails within a day.

The live account trading seems to have pretty much mirrored the results I got from the demo account so far, it has triggered a couple of losses but overall account equity is ahead. On the demo account it is averaging 10% a week increase in equity so far. You can see my stats at http://www.forexautotradingsystems.net/primevalea-weeklystats

Review:Like Greg Annett (below) I have been testing Primeval.

I agree that Sergio Carusu has been responsive and helpful.

I have a number of demo accounts on test. It is very important to get the GMTOffset setting right (there is an auto function for this, but for backtesting you need to set it manually) or it does not perform right.

I have backtested and NOT set up the grid or hedging strategies as I do not believe they are as good as the scalping strategies on the 8 recommended pairs.

It is early days but my main demo account, at default settings, which includes a setting of 10% risk on each of te 8 pairs, has produced a net 7.5% gain in 8 days of trading.

I would be interested to hear from Greg what his settings are....

Definitely worth considering. So far I am very happy with it.
