Discuss is for general discussions of a financial company or issues related to companies.

Info is for things like "Has anyone heard of Company X?" or "Is Company X legit or not?"

Compare is for things like "Which of these 2 (or more) companies is best?"

Searching is for things like "Help me pick a broker" or "What's the best VPS out there for trading?"

Problem is for reporting an issue with a company. Please don't just scream "CompanyX is a scam!" It is much more useful to say "I can't withdraw my money from Company X" or "Company Y is not honoring their refund guarantee" in the subject line.
Keep Problem discussions civil and lay out the facts of your case. Your goal should be to get your problem resolved or reported to the regulators, not to see how many insults you can put into the thread.

    More info coming soon.

General discussions of a financial company
Has anyone else been using Pepperstone? i have been getting some pretty good results and was looking for some advice.

I have been looking....and looking some more...for that very elusive Ms Right broker since trading Live back in Sep 2010.

Pepperstone seems to fit all my requirements, i.e:

1) Regulated (Australian Financial Services License)

2) Standard & Razor/ECN accounts with 0.01 lots

3) Apart from the normal currencies, also have Gold & Silver

4) Clients' funds are fully segregated and kept separate from the Pepperstone company funds.

5) Can deposit & withdraw via normal web money companies, Credit card, and local banks in 57 countries.

6) Have 1:400 max leverage (which do not get reduced when account grows like some or many brokers).

7) Have MT4 Trading Platform (they also offer MT5 platform).

8) Minimum USD200 deposit for both Standard & Razor/ECN accounts.

9) Have monthly Rebates if signup via AsianGroup.

I have read some pretty good reviews (and some bad reviews mostly from Newbies or suspiciously from rival broker rep).
There have been the usual complaints of slippages, re-quotes, time delay trade execution, etc2...but overall, I think I have found my near perfect (for me anywhere) broker.

Would appreciate very much comment(s) from any senior FPA members who is using Pepperstone as his/her broker.

Fast deposit, fast withdrawal, tight spreads but if you trade during news they will delay 2 seconds so you incur slippage and fill end of spike. I hear some EA users also complain of delayed execution by few seconds and slippage. If you swing trade I suppose you wont be affected.

Hi Pipstar,
Thank you for your feedback.

Yup, I have read some bad reviews on them, but still, they are AFS registered and so should be relatively safe broker.

I have already started a live Razor account with them 3 days back, and yes, their platform do have delayed trade execution and sort of freezes for at least 10 seconds. But quickly logging out and then restarting the platform normally does the trick. However, this seems to be quite common in other broker's ECN platform that I have used.

As for depositing/funding, Pepperstone works on their normal Australian office hours. Past their time, it's impossible to add emergency funds into the trading account (as I found out yesterday). This is something new to me, and the first broker I have encountered, which do not have 24 hours funding facilities.

I will post back here after a month or so of trading with them.

All the best!

Hi RahmanSL,
I too opened a live account despite some of the mixed reviews (who has perfect reviews LOL!!) So far so good, execution has held up. I program my own EA and execution has been great so far. I will update you after a month of trading. I chatted with their customer service and they said that they will have 24 hour funding very soon. Definitely waiting for that.

Hello forex.singtrader,

The main reason I opened an account with Pepperstone is because they are regulated by the AFS...and their trade execution is not that bad either....plus, I can trade in 0.01 lot size if so desired during slow market movement (you know, sort of like playing around with the market with minimal risk).

Their platform was out since Saturday, but I got a reply from Support that they were doing regular weekend maintenance, which is good, but I wish they would had e-mail me of their schedule.

Anywhere, everything is back to normal this morning when their platform started operation at 0600hrs our local time. This is another thing which I hope Pepperstone would consider starting their platform as soon as the New Zealand market opens at 0530hrs our local time.

Well, so far I am quite satisfied with Pepperstone and the rebate rates from my IB theAsianGroup is really2 fantastic.

Alright, I think we should keep each other informed on our experiences with Pepperstone....especially since I intend to park a fairly large amount of money with them soon.

Cheers & all the best in your trading!

Hi RahmanSL,
Ya, I noticed the weekend maintenance too. I like your suggestion on NZ market open especially for traders in Singapore. I have traded with FXCM MT4 in the past and compared to that, Pepperstone spreads are much tighter. Add rebates to that, trading is such a sweeeeet deal !!!!!

Man,

How does someone filter through all the reviews out there on Pepperstonne?

I have opened an account with them last week. I have placed a couple of trades. All is great so far. Great customer service to.

I am considering depositing a large amount to my account, but read this on some other forum.

“Peperstone are a WL of AXI and licensed under CDM which doesn't even cover market making for FX. Meaning they're not properly licensed.”

Is this true?

Are my funds safe?

They use Global Collect for the Local Transfers here in Canada.

Is this common practice?

How do we filter through all the good, the bad and the BS reviews?

Any insightful response would be highly appreciated.

Cheers,

Ramy
