Are you addicted to trading?

Something I can relate to. Yesterday I closed at NY close, having opened at London. It is euphoric to watch the whipsaws in a fast day like FOMC.

I love watching the whipsaws during the big impact events as well, even though I rarely trade during that time. They're fascinating to observe though.

I'm not addicted! I can stop anytime I like!

HOLD ALL CALLS! I SEE A POSSIBLE REVERSAL PATTERN FORMING!!!!
it's so funny because it's true. I suppose a trader can never stop as he sees a possible winning in any market situation...

Many times we are faced with such a situation and the best thing that can be done is to take the profits we are getting as they will also make sure that we can counter any possible losses :)

True. That's why I think it's good to train oneself to just pull away from the platform from time to time and give yourself a breather. Learning to pace yourself is important for good trading.

It is actually important for all the traders to learn how they should be doing their trades and also what is the best way to manage their funds :)

In this respect, I must say that I am not addicted, I am just part timer as I spend my maximum time in my first job and I am satisfy from the income of my firs job, I am earning reasonable amount being a part time trader but I am not addicted.

It is not a good habit to get addicted to the Forex trading as that can lead us into getting more losses from our trading in the long run :)

I have met a few traders who appeared to be addicted to trading and even though they were not professional traders they tended to make their daily decisions based on their trading and often cancelled or rescheduled planed events during the week due to trading.

I think they did that because they were not profitable and believed that they need to be glued to their screens in order to finally turn around and generate profits on a few trades. They seemed addicted to it which influenced their lives in a negative way. You always read about the positives in trading, but very few mention the negative impacts a lot of people suffer (besides losing your capital).

Any thoughts?
if you ask someone about their addiction, they will tell you that they're just experiencing a rough patch in their life, that it's just a phase. but idk about forex though:D

I am not addicted to trading. For me it's not the stable sourse of profit, just hazard)

I don't think I am addicted to it because I can see myself stopping at anytime. But if it would be an addiction, I think there is a positive outcome to it.
