I think the general upward trend is a good friend if we go long. Financial indices, NASDAQ and so on tend to grow historically.

I use it is a safe haven in the period of turbulence in forex markets. Gold is safer, but JPY is more beneficial (if we can talk about any profits than we hedge risks...)
