Thanks, I did have a note about Q1 I'm glad you confirmed that for me. I've been playing a 1600 - 1800 range on gold for awhile. The break of the 1625 tail combined with it being possible yearly low had me concerned my range play was about to end in the opposite direction I thought it would.
Hello Sive, you had mentioned in previous times that January gold prices usually set the high or low for the year. With 1625 now broken should 1696 be looked upon as our high for the year?
Hello samfx,
I don't know if this will help, but I try to make my charts look like Sive's by adjustments in the Fibo properties.
In the "Fibo Levels" tab I delete all the levels not used.
In the "Parameters" tab I leave "Ray" unselected and by adjusting the date, I move the fibo line away...
I was trying myself to do it in excel but realize it has been so long since I have used it that I am having problems with the formulas. I was going to call a friend for help but seeing as you have the excel already is it possible for you to send it to me?
Thx Sive
Sive does your chart automatically calculate these points?
I am not sure I understand when you said 135 periods, do you mean the high/low that has occurred in the last 135 periods? And if so is there a quick way to see this?
On Wikipedia I found something called detrended price oscillator (DPO). With an equation of: DPO = Close - Simple moving average [from (n / 2 + 1) days ago], is this the oscillator you are speaking of.
Could you instruct me on doing this for myself or maybe post the text from the mq4 files...
When using MT4 do you know which exact oscilator to use as my oscilator list does not seem to have one that just says oscilator or am I missing it from my list and need to locate it.
Fitz
P.S.
Does Oscilator=RSI
Hi Sive,
You are very informative. I was wondering though could you explain OP, COP and XOP and how they are calculated or direct me to where I can get the information. Also are these the same as the oversold levels you speak of, if not could you explain how the oversold level is found...
