Hi yes you generally can. However, on most brokers, you play/trade on margin. I trust you know what marging is - You use 1000 USD, but you dont have them, you garanty them with 100 USD (I assume you are american, thats why I give example with USD). Then If you lose more tham 100 $, the broker...

Your broker may have news service. Demo accounts often have 15 min delay or more, so do not judge by demo account. Today I checked when UK news will come on Felix site - was pretty quick - about 3 min after my broker deltastock Nick.

If we had crystal ball, things will be easyer. I personally today morning sold my EUR/USD @ 1.41.80, because I thouht it will not raise that much today. As usual 30 min after that we got 30-40 pips rally to 1.42.30 (later to 40). So nobody knows how the market will react to news. Nick.
