If you want to go with fundamental analysis then yes, I think it is better to focus on only one currency pair, the most familiar for you, since you will have to be aware of the main macroeconomic data of the countries involved.

Here it is one more newbie, who just landed on this forum. The reason to be here is learning from the experience of the rest of members here (and sharing mine as well) in order to improve my trading skills :).
