JFR CB Trading review: Pros, Cons, and Traders Ratings.

We had signed up with 'JFR CB Trading 'after attending a webinar through NinjaTrader on 10-13-22. But we were in touch with him before the webinar to ask questions.

I want to include some of the dialogs that took place in Discord pm, between JFR (aka *Jersey F'N Rick) and myself. I have no problems with Cara Brown. She is the tech behind the scenes and quite smart. However, as a business partner, I wish she would have gotten more involved.. She is in the trading room on occasion but JFR runs the trade room.

My crime? Not understanding the strategy and asking questions. I will let the dialog speak for itself. Space will not permit all of the dialog so I will stay with the gist. But make no mistake. I have the dialog to back up everything I write.

According to their website, 'JFR CB Trading' sells a Trade Room, personal mentoring, a strategy called SLAP and SLAP Expansion, and two other indicators called RevZone and Amperage. I cannot comment of the two latter nor the mentoring, only my personal experience with SLAP and what happens when one cant understand how it works.

I first made contact with JFR on or about Sep 19, 2022 when I asked a few questions. I was honest with him and communicated my chronic Lyme, and the cognitive issues that come with the disease. Most important to me: was understanding SLAP achievable for a person with my issues?

Although we were told the system does not work on Forex, one of the things mentioned in that same dialog was what helped us move forward. Rick said "I DO call out some LIVE Trades, but I focus more on teaching members (you) our systems, and I show you how to make your own decisions." And later he also wrote; "Everyone learns at a different pace, and has different goals/objectives. We can accommodate anyone."

Well that was some hope for me to proceed. It sounded to us that he would make every effort to help me understand the SLAP strategy.

Putting aside a promise made by JFR to extend the membership room for three months (dialog on file) I want to write the review on the strategy. A strategy I could not understand. (But thought I would be alright because Rick would patiently teach me.)

I want to include many of the comments between Rick and I, of what happens when you are not understanding his system. It was like I dropped $399 dollars into their lap and walked away.

In the end, I was to blame for my lack of...well let me let Rick say it; "You were the only person incapable of learning the SLAP system. A 12 year old can learn it in a day. I had 2 guys in their 80’s learn it within a week. Everyone learned in their own time, except for you. The failing cannot be with the teacher when everyone else was able to learn it. No, that was 100% on you."

If you look in the SLAP tab inside the Discord there is very minimal instruction provided. How to set up the charts for SLAP and pictures of what a trade looks like going short. But no picture going long. (that is brought out later)
No videos before December 2022. Only pics. With the SLAP strategy, the only pictures provided in the Discord (at the time of my signing up) are really not that different from what is put on their website. One could say I paid for a "system" that is provided in the website for free. (if you can figure out the website photo.) In other words, there is no sense in going into the Discord because the same type pic is already posted out in the public. https://jfrcbtrading.com/slap-system/

On Nov 12 2002 I received a pm that said "We have noticed your Trading Room Membership will be expiring in just a few days. We hope that you have had the opportunity to join us over the last days, and that you have seen the value of the trading room for yourself....."

That was weird because as mentioned above, I was told in a previous pm that my membership would be extended for 3 months, Now I received a pm advising me that my membership would be concluding at the end of the month? (my first initial month)

So I sent JFR a private message asking what happened. He said he didnt remember offering me an additional 3 months and wanted to see the text of the offer. I provided the dialog to him. In part, he responded with "Since SLAP comes with a complimentary Inner Circle Membership with Trading Room, your subscription expired on November 12. That is what you paid for. Why I said I'd give you 3 months was originally beyond me, but I figured it out..."

(Originally beyond me. Hmmm.)

He later said "OK, I see what happened. When I said, I'd extend 3 months it was based on you adding RevZone. OR, it was based on taking the amount you paid for SLAP and applying it to the ICM Trading Room. (The conversation is confusing). As our texts crossed at the same time as I said that about the extension, you then said you'd just leave it the way it was, so you never added RevZone. You stuck with SLAP."

He then writes; "So, do you want SLAP, which you would own after being in the room, or do you just want the trading room for 2 more months, and no access to SLAP after you leave the trading room? If you stick with SLAP, I'll extend your membership until December 12 (for the confusion). Or do you want to upgrade to RevZone? Tell me what you want, please."

He also wrote; "You originally wanted RevZone, but you paid for SLAP, which is half price. I specifically told you that if you purchased RevZone, you would still be taught SLAP."

To continue learning SLAP I would need to pay for the room additional months. And he said it would cost me $149.00 per month. I reminded him of the monthly price spoken of during the NinjaTrader webinar which I thought was $98. But now he is asking for $149? So I asked; "ok. that sounds good, but did you guys remove the 98 dollar a month subscription? or was that a one time deal?"

He wrote; "That was just for Inner Circle and no trading room. It was $198 for ICM w Trading Room.. We combined them, added a few things from the mentor program, and dropped it all to $149....Based on all of the changes, ICM alone does not have as much value as it once had, so we can’t justify $99 for it, so we killed it "

You be the judge on whether he was changing horses midstream. So what about JFR and his thoughts on SLAP? He stated in the Discord group what his thoughts are on learning SLAP. Under a SLAP tab he has a statement that reads "All 4 trades could have been executed by a blind monkey with autism (edited.)" He then provides a chart, with a trade that repeats his comments about a monkey.

As the month went through I waited in the trading room for information/instruction on SLAP. Many of the SLAP trades were AFTER the fact. What I call "trophy trades." Trades that are provided after the market has come and gone. But I needed something live and in my face so to speak in order to follow along. I wasn't seeing it. I admit it was challenging for me since I have never used the Bar style candles. Only the traditional candles. But that could be overcome.

I was always in the room, every day. But as time went forward, I was not understanding the SLAP system. And because of my illness, I would exit the room quietly. Why stick around if SLAP is mentioned only here and there. I was not hearing about how to find the particular candle 'before" the SLAP trade, only after the SLAP trade had taken place.

It seemed the room with all five people, was quite busy and possibly more geared toward those who purchased the RevZone and Amperage, than the SLAP system. After all, they did pay twice as much.

On November 12th I sent him a pm that read- 'Hi Rick. I know I am not the most popular in the group. Otherwise you would have seen I was not in the room over the last few days. I have had difficulty learning the SLAP and I am not sure how to proceed. I ditched the room last week and used the time to read the SLAP page over five times and still do not understand how to do this...."

There is nothing that indicates which candle is over or under. I am a visual learner and need this. As I will show below, I asked about a video, but was told "no".... I know the average bear would seem to catch on, but I have tried to let everyone know I am not the average bear. And without this understanding I cannot make any money. and without money I cannot have access t the room....I feel like I am the only one who is there to learn SLAP and sort of the red headed step child and I don't understand.... I apologize if I seem rude, that is not my intent. I am sad that I didn't learn anything and that was 399 that went nowhere.'

He wrote in part;
"1. It’s not a popularity contest.....".
2. We will be doing a video on SLAP. I was going to do this on FriDay, but I was feeling up to it. Cara will be producing video for all products and they will be made available.
5. Not kicking you to the curb. Just trying to figure this out, and help you to get value from the membership. The above is a standard issue message that needs to be sent to all people when it’s time to renew. No reason to flip out. After you send the dialogue, we can probably work something out."

On November 13th he wrote;" I made a video that covers SLAP today... in addition to our other manual systems. This is for members only! However, I will make a 1-time exception for you... providing you with access to the recording of todaty's Study Hall Meeting. I cannot make this any more simple. I hope you are finally able to see it."

O how I felt special. A one time exception generally for members only?.

A few days later, while in the trading room I asked him a question. Because he has only a pic of a trade that showed SLAP going short, so I asked him for a pic of a trade going long to better understand his thought process. Something I could study since I felt I was on my own. When he said "no" I left the room.

He sent me a pm that said "At least say goodbye when you leave." What is with you? It was a valid question, and I answered it. And why do you keep leaving abruptly? Manners, dude… manners! Change your behavior, or I will remove you before 01/06/2023. Either respond to me or Cara acknowledging that you understand by tomorrow morning, or I will remove all permissions except for the SLAP Channels."

So I am told I have no manners because I left a room that I pay for? I responded to him with " You do what you gotta do....... I asked you for a photo of what it looks like when you trade upward (using SLAP). You are full of scrap telling me you were waiting for the market to turn as you boast daily of the SLAP trades that could have been taken. And many were going upward. I needed a picture to see what it looks like before it happens. Not after the fact. I am leaving your organization with nothing to take away....."

Keep in mind that he accused me of having no manners. The same guy who uses the F word while hosting the trading room; who cusses, the same guy who refers to his domicile as "the den of iniquity".

His response? "Yeah dude, I’m a real person, and when things are slow and no one is asking questions… even when I prompt members to ask, I will occasionally talk about something interesting, or off kilter. Only someone like you would complain about the nicknames for my apartment. As for the F word, it’s rare these days, but I can make improvements there. Still, people offended by a word they hear 100 times a day and in every movie/show, are people looking to be offended, or into causing trouble. Over the last 2.5 years of this discord, I only had 1 other member that did virtually the same things that you did. The non stop complaining and self-loathing s*** is intolerable, and it brings the whole room down. I cannot subject members to that type of behavior any more. You had 2 months to learn SLAP. 1 more week was not going to make any difference, but your mood killing attitude had to be switched off before the new year."

After this last dialog I was given the boot. The point of raising the "manners" issue was because I (as I said) was accused of bad manners only for not understanding SLAP and asking questions. This is what to expect if you purchase SLAP and don't understand how to trade it. I tried to keep the dialog to a minimum, but it was challenging because I want others to read what took place w/o too many details. Yes I complained, but never in front of the group, only through pm. I know this isn't the most exciting review, but I wanted other traders to know what happened to me so it doesn't happen to you. Thanks for reading.
